Jack Kemp Dies At 73

Jack Kemp died yesterday at 73 due to complications from cancer.

I liked him for his politics, but also (as a long-suffering Bills fan) because of his pro football career in Buffalo.

I met him (briefly) once. He was a mensch.

I disliked his politics but thought he was a stand-up guy with integrity. The world could use more of those, regardless of party.

I agree, I never agreed with Jack Kemp, but I thought he had tremendous integrity. He also cared about problems of inequality , opportunity, poverty and devoted himself to providing very creative solutions to them. Always tried to think outside the box.
