Plenty of action while this site was down; Here's the assorted stuff I ran across-
http://www.startribune.com/stories/1405/5334377.html
“During a three-team meet Tuesday at Coon Rapids, Yetzer ran the 3,200 for the first time in two years. She lapped the field, and her time of 10:48 (10:47.7-see honor rolls) would have been good enough for second place at last year's state meet.”

A strong showing by the DGF team at BSU’s Little Amik II; a strong early 1600 for meet MVP Tyler Bjorhus taking the meet record from Derek Mattila.

An interesting article on the Willmar program highlights the resume and experience of their new coach.
Had a Marshall Independent link good yesterday only, Dahir opens the season with a 4:27.in Montevideo Thursday, Allen 2nd with no time reported; Ahmednur wins the 3200 over 10:00 if I remember right, and Tauer pole vaults.
http://www.wctrib.com/Main.asp?SectionID=30&SubSectionID=87&ArticleID=29817
Eckhoff opens w/a 4:28.53 for Willmar in Hutch Thursday, taking second- Buffalo was there so I’m going to have to presume that Fadgen won the race. Found a better link to more results here, also includes a meet in Benson- http://www.wctrib.com/Main.asp?SectionID=30&SubSectionID=87&ArticleID=29846

That is a solid meet for them. 4:30/2:04 for TB, 10:21 for JB and a nice early season Class A 4x8 time without TB in 8:36. I have got to assume when DGF puts TB in there they will be in the 8:20's right now. Those are some good runs.

He was consistently over 22' 6" at that meet, albeit with a strong tailwind, but he has a chance to go over 24' this year. I think he could be a great triple jumper if he had better technique, still fun to watch him jump.

Many, many meets around the state yesterday (tuesday)- I'll link up results to those I run across, but that'll be very incomplete regardless- if something big happened at yours, don't hold back.
St. Cloud Times covers event winners of 3 meets- Holdingford, Aitkin, & Paynesville-
http://miva.sctimes.com/miva/cgi-bin/miva?Web/page.mv+1+sports+702846
The performance that jumped out at me, and I have to wonder if it might not be a misprint, is Pierz's Steph Bleicher's 55.9 win in the 400. Obviously she's a solid runner, winning both the 200 & 400 in Aitkin, but that time puts her at a faster pace than her 200 and faster than anything in class A last year; I have to wonder whether that can be for real.
Edit- the Brainerd dispatch puts that 400 at 1:05.9, a 10 sec. difference.

In our first meet yesterday MA vs CA vs Saints:
Jared Eliason CA ran a 4:41 to kick my butt (I ran 4:47 feeling like crap). We both ran the 200 open and he ran 24.3 and I ran 25.0 (I also ran the 100 :) in 12.7). Chris Bradford had a decent showing in the 100 and 200, runnng 11.3, 23.6 and long jumping 19'5". Other performances of note from the meet: Jessica McDougall ran a 5:41 1600 by herself and a
12:19 3200.

Nice early-season time for Krueger in the 8, possibly the best outdoor open 8 in the state so far- hard to tell, though, nobody in AA's turned in any 800 times to the honor rolls yet.
Browsing the rolls, Yetzer's taken over the top end of the 800 with her 2:14 at the Lakeville megameet, and Grinaker's joined her in the sub-10:50 stratosphere on the 3200 list with a strong home performance. Partial results on the Detroit Lakes tri-

The Winona paper had a brief article on the meet, limited to their own athletes with no real detail-
http://www.winonadailynews.com/articles/2005/04/18/highschoolsports/01second-hs.txt
the article notes that official results and times won't be available until monday; so you may want to check this sports section tomorrow. Cannon Falls has a weekly paper, and you may find coverage in their sports section later in the week whenever they update, nothing there yet-
http://www.cannonfalls.com/main.asp?SectionID=6
You could also request results from the host coach by e-mail, and see if you get a response-
schopp.ben@cannonfallsschools.com
Seen nothing on the Pony Relays but team scores. Metro area meets are the hardest to find results on if they don't end up on raceberryjam.com since the metro daily papers carry nothing but team scores. No guarantee it'll get you an answer, but mshsl.org has a directory pull-down menu of all MN schools, and the school's page lists all coaches and often their e-mail address.

Haha, yeah, they should have just put her in the boys race to see if she and Fouquette could have pulled faster races out of each other, their times are close. But I spose all the other guys would hate getting 'girled.'

Phil ran a 9:54.X in the 3200 and a 4:52 in the 1600. He was just running the 1600 lightly because it was a baton-style 4x1600 and he had no one to pace off of. He seemed almost embarassed when he found out his time. As for the rest of Andover... I have no times for anyone but myself. I ran as part of the 4x100 hurdle shuttle race, in which I was unfortunately anchor of. It was a letdown to be so far back when I started, but I closed the gap a little bit. I ran a 54.X in the 400 leg of the SMR and finished up the day with a somewhat disappointing 43.1 in the 300H.
On a sidenote, I am really pumped for the Husky Twilight this friday. It is going to be intense. It's Andover's first invite and I'm hoping it will be a good meet.

Correct, the honor rolls list outdoor performances only, and Elizabeth apparently hasn't done an outdoor 1600 yet, presumably. Her 4:54 or whatever it was exactly happened in the U of MN fieldhouse.
Same goes for those strong early races from the DGF program, they happened indoors at Bemidji State.

Great effort without anyone close!- I wonder what she'll actually go after at sections, with her range. An early article indicated she may forego the 8 for the longer races. I see she was on the winning 4x4, what kind of split is she capable of in that relay?
Thanks for that link, by the way. I notice you can get the goods on the Lakeville boys by simply modifying gtrack to btrack. Anybody else out there maintaining similar results pages for their programs? Your shared links are most welcome here.
Class A girls-
its tough to get a handle on everything that happens unless somebody involved posts it up, either here or to the honor rolls.
There were some very early results on Calabrese & Swenson, nothing at a new level for them or anything, mentioned above in this thread. Haven't run across results on Wetsch since this site upgraded, but if I remember right she had a 2:18? prior to that. Ran across an article on the Holy Family home meet in the jordan paper or somewhere, but it contained no ind. results and I usually don't put a link up on something like that unless there's more than team scores. Seen nothing on Tholen; the Gewerth girls are making some impact on the honor rolls along with the rest of that solid Cedar Mountain program. Anyone else in particular that you were wondering about?

The Salt Lake Tribune has a nice article on the race, with a couple good shots of Chris. You have to wade through the over-hype a little bit, these were not the top 21 two-milers in the country- but an actual sub-9:10 at over 4000 feet in April is a great winning performance any way you stack it up. How can you not love the final quote at the end of the article- Gerry Lindgren, whose National indoor two-mile record has stood since 1964, wants us to know that he was never really that good!

Today's Pioneer Press scoreboard includes event winning performances in the AV True Team (girls) invite, good for them and hopefully a sign of more in-depth coverage in the future. Owatonna's Cochlin turns in a 100m race that'll move her up the rolls; Dorniden's 400 looks to be the best yet this season, though off her best last year, but give her a 2:17 800 to go along with that. Tonka's Lehman & Liewen sweep the longer distances. AV's Harrington turned in a top 3 honor roll effort in the 100h. Roseville's 4x1 bested their previous top-end performance. Stillwater's Koschel vaulted near the top of the lists at 11'-0.
You'll need to scroll scroll down abuot 3/4 the way through this lengthy thing to get at the rest of the details.

A little blurb in Today's SCTimes reads as follows, noting some honor roll worthy performances in Princeton; this is all they have on the meet-
"Track and field
Princeton Invitational
PRINCETON — Becky Wipper of St. Cloud Tech won the pole vault Friday with a vault of 9 feet, 6 inches on Friday. The Tigers' 1,600 relay team won with a time of 4:09.24. Kristen Hille of Sauk Rapids won the long jump with a jump of 16-8. The Tigers placed second with a score of 106. The Storm placed fifth with a score of 69."

Browsing the honor rolls now that they've updated, the A boys had two very noticable additions- Torchia sub-9:30, better that any 3200 in class A since '03; and Graff from LeSueur-Henderson cleared the bar at 6-7 for the best HJ in the state thus far.

Great effort without anyone close!- I wonder what she'll actually go after at sections, with her range. An early article indicated she may forego the 8 for the longer races. I see she was on the winning 4x4, what kind of split is she capable of in that relay?
?
in the open 400 at one of their home meets she was going for the school record of like 59 or something like that and she ran like a 60 or 61 with pretty harsh wind conditions

This thread is getting a bit long. Haven't found listings from Shakopee yet, but I know the most impressive number put up was Burnsville's 66'3" Three man long jump relay. THat is ridiculous to have three guys averaging 22'. They topped Lakeville (second) by 4 feet.

Glancing through the Glencoe paper's sports headlines, I ran across this article on Glencoe's performances in the Annandale meet, 4/21, which the SC times gave winning performances only and there's a link to that somewhere above in this thread. Jesse Posusta went 49.6 there for the only sub-50 in the state so far that I was aware of- this article mentions that he outkicked DC's Doug Aho (49.8) to get that time. It also mentions that their distance standout Maggie Zirbes is 'ailing,' no further detail. It'll be interesting to keep an eye on Posusta's 400, his coach feels he has more in the tank. They had a home meet thursday the 28th, but nothing in their paper yet and they're not turning anything in to the rolls so far anyway.

The Dassel-Cokato article on the meet leads off with the frustration of going sub-50 in April and still taking second; twice already (as of then) that Aho's come in right behind Posusta.
