There's a lot of product on the market to develop speed, plyometrics programs, jumpsoles, strength shoes, parachutes, sleds, leg resistors, Calf isolators, etc.
Can anyone share their experience with these speed programs and do any of them work? Also if you did them, did you suffer any injuries.

I'm trying this new fad called uh, jogging. I believe it's jogging or yogging. it might be a soft j. I'm not sure but apparently you just run for an extended period of time. It's supposed to be wild.

MY belief is that most of these stuff do work, but their relative effectiveness as compared with doing workouts on the track is questionable. It's like losing weight. Almost all the programs out there work IF you devote a lot of time and effort to it. It just depends how seriously you take these special programs

I did the parachute on top of regular practice, and I also did stairs and jumping excersises with a weight vest. It really does help, but you have to do it for like 2 months.

Most YOUNG men such as freshman boys drop .6-.7 off of their 100M from time trial to the end of the year. The numbers are very similar with woman. In addition this is considering kids that do not try to hard in the off season. I think the parachute is not good. However, I do like the sled that you can add wieght too. It the cable is pulled tight the runner gets good resistance while working on their drive phase. However, once the intial wieght has been over come from the sled (about 50m) then it is time to decelerate and start again.
