i think that the first big meet of the season is the Penn Relays. i dont know if any other teams are going, but i know that NK is not. other than that i believe that the first invit. is the Schomp and then everyone has their division meets...

yeah- and westerly had 2 teams in the 4x400. sam was on the slower team. she was down about 5 or 6 seconds to the other westerly team, and came back to win by a second or two. so westerly also had a 4x4 team come in a 4:16. but the nk girls were actually winning the meet coming into the last 4x4. but in dual meets (which i just found out...) only teh winning team gets 5 points. the team that comes in 2nd in the relay gets none. it was a pretty crazy meet with coventry there too.

So boys who do you think will pull out the big W in the class A relays tomorrow?
Im really somewhat undecided because some of the key seniors are away visiting colleges so who knows if they will be back in time to help our team out. Well with the possible lose of those key runners, other people might be smelling an upset, we will just have to wait and see. I can tell you one thing i am excited.

(guy from running heritage) came in 22 and looked really strong and the girls track coach at my school, Michela Thompson came in at 3:17 and i believe was the first RI female (she came in around 2500 and she was ranked 10958 so really good for her, a 16 min PR) Overall is was really cool everyone should def go check it out next year.

I loved Foss only cuz our cabin counselor bought us pizza everyday so we didn't have to eat the crap that u guys were. 2nd we almost won our heat in the triathalon had it not been for pat mcgovern's inability to row a boat.

Alright the last night of camp they have this gay dance and they stop and have a headcount every 45minutes or something and they stop the dance if anyone is missing. so myself dan lamothe were just hanging out in the rec room with a few girls and i say to dan we should head up 2 the calf so we dont get screwed at the headcount. dan decides to take a walk with this girl in the woods, needless to say moments later the music stops for a headcount. i trying to cover for dan tell our counselor that dan had gone back to the cabin, i dont think he believed me. so 2 ppl are missing dan and that girl so all the counselors go looking for them. no need to say what they were doing but lets just say some articles of clothing were not on properly, counslors find him and he tells this girl to hide behind a tree and dan only seeing one male counselor answers the question of what are you doing with and i quote "beating off" then dan spots more counselors that were female. they both have to call their parents and would have had to gotten picked up if ir were not the last night. if you add that on top of everyone in our cabin skipping every meeting that they had we were not liked very much at camp foss. but, if we go again this year i bet things will only get better.lol

I think blais will appreciate this story.
So around the same time as dan getting in trouble most of our teammates were at the dance. Me Finnegan and Henderson decide that we should hang out in the cabin for a while. Finnegan, being the crazy kid that he is, decides to play a joke on blais. So we decide to put his mattress in the rafters of the cabin. After a while we decide that this wasn't good enough. So we put all of the cabin's trash on top of the mattress. We then placed a broom directly underneath this area. So the only way he could get the mattress back was to have a large amount of trash fall on top of him.
Good times also occured when at 12 at night McConnell and Gilcreast would take Blais's mattress from him while he was trying to sleep.

heres a story about someone on the team who is nto very well known Mike O'Rouke not to mention hes worse then most incoming freshmen.
so mike brings powdered gatorade to camp and makes some, no big deal. so one days the well for the camp starts to run dry and they tell us not to take showers for a few hours so the well can build up on water. mike goes to make gatorade and comes back with only a quarter full and someone asks him mike why is it only half full and his answer well i could only get that much water from the bubelur because the showers are off. no need to say everyone who had drank the gatorade he had made before was going to be sick. someone gave it the appropriate name of showerade.
another is when we had tacos one day for lunch and we all had some they were horrible but later that day mike asks us if anyone thought the cheese tasted a little funny we all say it was okay then he adds he should not have ate as much since he was lactose intolerant.
how about at the dance when this girl he had a crush on all weeks asks him to dance and he grabs her hair and starts pulling it i wasnt there and it was really funny so guys im gonna need some help explaining that one.

in jacksons' defense, I know that beavs blamed him and said he let Hope get back in the race.....I think if we're gonna blame anyone for the loss of that relay we should blame bobby brown....Pat, the freshman, and Jackson were all around 53, bobby was at best a 55-56 and dug us a huge hole. I mean, its still funny when he assaulted that fence, but I really don't think we can blame chris for that one.

wait how much did you guys lose to them by and was jackson the last leg?
BHHSbigtony89
04-27-2005, 06:20 PM
Lost by like half a second if that and probly only because the kid from hope cut in front of jackson as soon as he could and jackson tried to go around him but there wasnt enough distance left. well pat and bobby were injured so it was thier first race back but they dug a hole. the freshman who was down by around 50 meters closed the gap and passed the kid from hope to give jackson a lead going into the final leg so there really isnt a need to blame anyone its only a dual meet.
keenenk77
04-27-2005, 07:39 PM
well one thing also that you have to look at is hope ran a 3:31 indoors and is a nasty team in the relays. The state meet will be fun to watch in that with Hope, Hend, and us NK. I think we are the slowest with a 3:36. Not bad for RI guys......

First of all Jackson is one of my favorite teammates. Second i'm not ridiculing him at all. He was the first one to laugh about it the next day. Plus its not in front of the whole state. Rhode Island members of dyestat r mostly hendricken kids and Burns who knows Jackson pretty well. Third its nothing like the Bronson situation because Bronson had no right to laugh as it was no joking matter. Jackson still ran a really great race on Tuesday. We're just joking around with him. And last u also posted about the incident so u don't really have a right to get angry with me and make a long rant about my post.
I apologize to Jackson if in any way i insulted him or made him angry with the post. But seeing that i said the exact same thing to him that i said in the post and he laughed i don't think its a big deal.
And blais i have nothing against u i just wanted to post my side of the story.

Nice run by Webb at Penn went through the 1500 in 4:04, which is what he ran last year at states so he's lookign good for sub 4 this year. Mercurio didn;t run as well, but at least we had one RI guy in the race. Did the westerly girls go?? Nice job by maloney in the JAV also. what are you all running at schomp???
interesting how at our dual meet tuesday his ankle hurt so he couldn't run, yet he did a speed workout, and makes a miraculous recovery for penn

True i did end up on the ground but thats only because i let go of the deadly grip that i had on u. And the reason i don't wanna run the 3000 is cuz last time we were supposed to run at AT pace u did a 9:07. And then once u start goin hendu can't help himself. Then i end up in no man's land.

IN TRACK AND FIELD, Cranston West freshman Leigh Petranoff set a Rhode Island record in the girls' javelin at a dual meet with Warwick Veterans on Monday. Petranoff threw 136 feet, 9 inches (41.68 meters). Her mark betters the previous record of 135-3 (41.11), set by South Kingstown's Heather Carr in 2003.
Petranoff's father, Tom, formerly held the world's men's javelin mark.

ummm osei did his 100 and 200 thing. Ronny from woonsocket ( who is techincally a sophmore but will be a senior next year..he moved this year to the US from the dominican republic) won the 1500 in 4:15. Gallogy won the 3k i got second (9:24.8 , 9:27.0)...nothing to exciting.

because palumbo is a little cheating S.O.B.

that was pretty funny though. i was right where he stepped out and he was WAY off the track. a good 5-10 inches with his inside leg. still a good run by him, and a good kick by kundrat.

oh yeah- i almost forgot...
i was looking at the hartford results and finnegan and jackson where not in them. i saw mcconnel ran a 10:20 2 mile and webb in 4:19, but jackson wasnt in the mile, or finnegan in the 2 mile.
o- and sam rana 56.xx- 400 meters to win the individual 400 at hartford. westerly also won the 4x800, beating saratoga springs. (after sam ran a 2:06 final leg... ) And then they went on to win the 4x400 in 3:58...
and maloney won the jav. with a 234 foot throw. pretty nuts

because kundrat definitely didn't cut inside and interrupt strides like 5 different times
oh he did?
ohhh thats right, but he doesn't wear a Hendricken jersey so he trips whoever he wants, no problem.
EVERY race that kid cuts someone off, it's absolutely ridiculous. Just yesterday he interrupted Palumbo's stride twice and Wood's once, and that was just the ones that I noticed.

Finnegan didn't run because of some minor issues with his foot. He should be alright in the next day or two. Finnegan said that Jackson ran so either finn lied or they didn't register his results.
In response to Kundrat cutting in... it was pretty obvious that he tripped me since i barely kept my balance. But like blais said we have a hendricken uniform on. But it doesn't bother me cuz i ran like crap anyway. Kundrat ran a good time so i can't really knock him.

Actually the deal with hartford is Finn didn't run because of his foot and Jackson ran in the seeded section of the mile because he missed the earlier race which they didnt see on the schedule. Didn't have a strong race ohh well we all have um. And Maloney threw a 231 US#1 right now. Mad props to Corey Thorne in the 3000 Steeple for breaking the meet record. In a time most guys in this state can't run a normal 3000 in. Congrats to every one on there races this weekend. Heard there was quite a few good times. there are just as many guys faster than thorne's steeple time in this state, in relation to the small size of the state, as anyother. most states just have a few more guys capable of sub 9:00.

no doubt, cory thorne is probally one of the best runners we have in the northeast, but this is the RI Outdoor Track Forum... and i doubt that at this point, that i could even break 10:00 in the 3k steeple.

Ok guys it is no that dificult.
Toll Gate has Kundrat in the 1500 and the open 800 , so that are not going after the 4x800,
Lau (TG) will not run the 4x800 as they are not putting in their best team.
If Craven were to run the 4X800 he might not beat a fresh Lau in the open 800 .
The mystery man for Hend, The only person they could use who has not run an 800 this year is Massula, other wise it would be one of their standard
except it cannot be Webb, Palumbo,Finnigan, McConnel, or Jackson as they are all entered in two events already

norm bouthillier* told me that they were going for teh 4x800 at states. things may have changed but, you never know.
Lau is a senoir and why not put him in any race that he qualifies in. he can do the 4x800 and still have ginormous amounts of recovery time for the 800. he could be nearly fresh.
name one person that craven has had to race in an all out 800, that shows that he has even been pushed this year. every 800 race, people are too afraid to go out with him. so he has yet to be pushed through an all out 800. some people have snuck on him in the end of a race, but he has controlled pretty much every 800 that he has been in.
kundrat is seeded in teh 1500 so he will have lots of time to recover. they could be puting him in the 1500, and 800 to throw people off. if they can pull off top 3 in the 4x800 and get 3 guys all state that is far better than one guy possibly not getting all state at all. Kundrat is seeded 3rd and has been progressing quite well throught the season. but, ronny genaeo has run 4:06 so has jackson, and webb. so that could bump kundrat out of top 3 in the 1500. Norm is a smart coach and he would rather see 4 guys make all state than risk the chance of his top miler not making all state. --also kundrat could scratch the 1500 before the meet and do the 4x800 and 800 and have plenty of rest and a chance for top 3 in the 800 also.
webb, mcconnel, palumbo, jackson, etc. whatever. coach doyle does the same thing every year. he puts those guys in whatever races they qualify in to give himself plenty of options. any person on the hendricken team could end up on that 4x800 team:
webb could do...
4x800, come back for seeded 1500 and 4x400
or
1500, 3k, 4x400
1500, 800, 4x400
1500, 4x400
palumbo could do:
4x800, seeded 1500, and 800
or
just 1500
1500, 800
mcconnel could do
4x800, 3k
4x800, 1500
1500, 3k
just 3k
jackson could do
4x800, 1500, 800
1500, 800
or just 1500 (highly doubt it)
finnegan
(not sure that he could fit in a 800 but...) 4x800, 1500
just 1500
1500, 3k
4x800, 3k
also, hendricken has stephen wood and derek henderson in 2 events each...
both in the 1500, 3k- do you really think that they are going to double?
...but it is hendricken, so they might.
don't overlook anything that hendricken does.
by them taking up spots in the 1500 and 800 and even 3k it doesnt let other people that would have qualified to be possible point scorers.

You may have been correct in previous years ... but hits years rules says that you cannot be ENTERED in two events at 800 or over. So those games cannot be played this year ...

yes, you can. you can run the 1500 and the 3000 meters. and you are allowed to do a relay. doesnt matter what length the relay is.

tom webb is doing the 1500 and 3k and the 4x400. and i am pretty sure that andrew coleman is running the 1500, 3k.
who are you
edit: the more i think of it the more.. nevermind
so you are no longer allowed to double the 800, 1500?
you cannot be entered in 2 events at or over 800. have you seen teh seedings? there are at least 4 guys ENTERED in teh 3000 and 1500

You can be in two events 800 and over, but not three including the 4X 800 relay. This is from my coach so i think its correct.

If he is from cumberland, it is a mystery to me cuz i know all of our names, but who knows. don't forget about that hope kid. he only ran .1 off of craven's time, but my vote goes to craven i think he'll bring it out fast and win in 1:57ish, good to luck to all.

Damn.. Burns u weren't supposed to tell anyone that i was doin the 1500 3k double. The reason i haven't raced in two weeks is to rest up for this double. I've actually decided to rest so much that i haven't even run since the titan invite.
O well.... good luck to everyone.

Bishop Hendricken is going to have an outstanding cross country team next year. They have a shot at the Nike Team National Race.

Colin McConnell JR B.Hendricken-Ri 9:03.70; 4:05.77
Andrew Palumbo JR B.Hendricken-Ri 4:10.66; 2:01.85
Derek Henderson JR B.Hendricken-Ri 9:11.43
Steve Wood SO B.Hendricken-Ri 9:15.90; 4:24.2
Dan Lamothe JR B.Hendricken-Ri 4:16.40

AH come on polyxc you cant count cumberland out yet:
Hartnett 8:53 4:08 1:58
myself 9:02 4:07 2:00
Turcotte 9:12
Holgate 9:27 4:13
Griglevich 9:26 4:18
mcginnis 2:02
I think its gonna be one hell of a year next xc because both sides are talented and we both gonna work our a** off to beat each other. Either way both teams will be looking at placing high in new englands.

You are right, both of your teams are loaded!
I can't wait to stack up the New England teams for next year. Maybe this year, New England will get the credit deserves in the Nike Team nationals ranking.
Are you guys going to run at the Manhattan Invitational this Fall?
