Hi so just a question for all you runners. . .

What is your average amount of miles that you run per week?
What is your best 5K time?
Gender?
Age?

This is all for a high school stats project. THANKS for the help!

this is a ridiculously unprofessional way to survey people, but i'll bite

-Right now I'm averaging about 70 miles per week (hit a high of 87 in the summer)

-My best 5k time is 16:17 (although I really am sure I could run 16:00ish right now, but that doesn't count)

low 50's per week.
5k PR is 18:22 from a 4m, but if you convert that my 17:18 3 mile, assuming I run the same pace, it would be 17:55.
I'm a 15 year old male Sophomore.

I'm old, so I'll be a bit of an outlier in this stat project.

If you haven't thought about this already, it is very likely that the people responding to your post have certain common characteristics that make them more likely to respond to it, making your data not rrandom. If that doesn't matter to what you're doing the data might as well be made up. For example, people who run lower mileage or slower times might be more reluctant to share that information. It is also possible that people who are more interested in and concerned with this, enough to make them eager to respond, are more likely to be, for example, higher mileage runners.

It's probably just some stupid high school assignment, I doubt it matters if the data is accurate. Are you really running 95 mpw? Impressive

You'll definitly have to sort out the real from the fake on this one. If you use common sense you can figure out which one's to dump.

Mileage per week: Currently 40-5; when I ran 5k PR 75-80mpw in college.
5k PR - 14:38 (fr/ college)
Age - 31 (right there with you for the old man award lwcxc)
