I'm starting to train for longer races now (10k-Half Marathon) so my long runs are going to become more and more important as I get further into training. I've been looking into/experimenting with a lot of gels, and everything I have come across so far is basically the same stuff.
Recently I got a couple of samples of accel gel and noticed that they have a little bit of protein to them. My stomach tolerated them well, but they seem to be among the more expensive gels out there. Does anyone have any experience/knowledge of performance differences between Accel Gel and you standard, run of the mill gels?
A secondary question: Gu Roctane contains about 1.5-2g of their amino acid complexes in each packet. I know it isn't the same as getting straight up protein, but will it have to same effects?
