So today in practice I finally fixed my weirdass trail leg. 7th and 8th grade track didnt focus too intensly on form-to say the very least.
I used to bring it over with out picking the knee up after having cleared (if you can visualize that?), but now Ive got the right trail leg form going. The problem is that its now it seems to have messed with my 3 step. I did a few flights and managed to hit 3-but it was a struggle. I ended up 4 stepping more often than not.Anyone go through this after fixing their form? Sometimes I need a day or two to let things settle into a rhythm after ficking technique stuff. hmm... suggestions?

i had a similar problem, but it was when i was first learning to hurdle. just make sure you're getting over the hurdle quickly in order to maintain maximum velocity. sometimes it feels like you won't make the hurdle in 3, but the key is to be confident that you will make it over the hurdle as long as your footspeed and stride length are fine.

Hurdling is a very difficult event in track! It took me a lot of practice to get most of it down and I am still working on it! Do one thing at a time. Work on gettin your trail leg perfect...high knee and all that good stuff. The 3-stepping will come with practice. It seems a lot harder then it is! Don't think too much or ull kill ur brain and get very frustrated! Once you get the 3 stepping down it will be amazing....but be patient and keep working hard!
