Maybe I am just blind, but where has Adam Harris been? I know he was mildly hurt indoors, but has he even run an outdoor race yet? I really hope he can be 100% at state and hopefully go to NOC's.

I think I spied results that had him in an open 400 at a minor meet. Indicates they are trying to bring him back slowly so that he doesn't reinjure the hamstring and that it was more than a mild strain. Looked like his time was 51. something.

It doesn't appear like he is going to duplicate the magic like last year.. This sport is so unpredictable from one year to the next.

Why would you say that? He is back running apparently (on the 400 leaderboards in the dailyherald), and it is still a while until state. Even if he is at 80% he could still win three events.

That really was an ignorant statement on your part. Wow.

I seriously doubt that he would win anything at 80%. The state isn't that weak for him to have it that easy. He might not win 3 events if he's 100%.

I don't get it. What was the ignorant part?

1) adam harris was the class of the field last year in an arguably more competitive (sprints) year.
2) at 100%, another year under his belt, no one will beat him in the sprints. matter of fact, he'll crush the 200m field. (that is, unless some freak transferred in, or the second coming of Mo Greene is a freshman somewhere)
3) an injury MIGHT affect his hurdling form, as he would have limited practice with that. however, if he's able to run without a hitch in his stride, the practice issue, to be honest, won't be a factor in the 100/200.

I think that's a bit too much saying he can still win 3 events even if his not at 100%.

My comment is that this sport is unpredictable. That is what makes it so great. Sure, Harris could very well win the 3-peat again but it's not guarranteed for a variety of reasons thus far... in my book the best male sprinter in Illinois is Jeff Farnell from Montini at this junction in the season.

No ignorance at all. Ignorant is not knowing. For what ever reason, The Wheaton staff and Harris himself have taken a different approach to the season this far... on the other hand Jeff Farnell (Montini) has demonstrated that he is Illinois' best male sprinter to the point.
We all know that Alexandria Anderson is the best female sprinter in Illinois (it would be an ignorant statement to suggest otherwise).

He said it doesn't appear, not that it won't happen. Since he hasn't run a competitive race yet and has been injured, it honestly doesn't appear that he'll have same success he had last year at state. Once again, he still does have plenty of time to right the ship, but as of right now, things could be looking a lot better for him if he never got hurt.

i dont see anyone beating him in the 100 100s or 200. how could you? i just dont think that you can bet against a defending state champ. the only person that could contend with him would be rashard mendenhall from niles west but he is goin the the u of i football camp bc he graduated a semester early. for those of u who dont kno... hes a sprinting phenomenon who placed 7th in state in the hundred as a sophmore in 2003. HOWEVER i dont think that he could win all 3 if he wasnt at 100%. it wouldnt suprise me if he won one of them with a small injury but he couldnt complete the trifecta unless he was healthy.
