Mhills beat Farrell
Hills avg'ed I believe 13:12
Soloff over Lewis as stated 12:52 to what looks like 12:59? Sounds about right
Farrell ran pretty solidly I think
they did get their 4th in before Hills 5th and in about 13:38? maybe
Hills went: 12:52
13:02
13:08
13:21
13:40's? low?
Farrell 12:59
13:11?
13:20's low?
13:38-39?
don't know about 5th
This was a little bizarre in that they started race about 1:30-40 after PSAL start and I am sure caught them and had to run thru extra traffic

The boys varsity race caught the back of the PSAL jogging club by the bridge. I'd guess it cost 20 seconds to work thru the log jam.
where are u getting 20 seconds from?

obviously it hindered the times somewhat but lets not go throwing around numbers just because they sound good. If your the type of person who has very little self confidence and needs to justify a sub par time then go ahead. Personally I cant stand when people make excuses for dissapointing time or conversion B.S. you ran what you ran and thats that... Run fast when it counts (November) not at the Regis Invite

I know Soloff very well, and while very good he is no where near a 12:31 guy yet!! ;)

Varsity runners in the Regis Invitational running in 15th to 25th suddenly found themselves running in 95th to 105th as they crossed the bridge heading into the back hills. They went from a swift pace in a fairly open situation to one of congested traffic with athletes running six wide moving at quite different speeds. Just presenting the facts boys. Draw your own conclusions.

i was toward the front in that race, and you're right, it was pretty bad. the entire meet was messed up because the PSAL meet went on the same time. So it was a real mess. There were PSAL kids walking in front of us. But still, dude, it was NOT twenty seconds. I think that I got it among the worst of the kids, i had to chop up my stride constantly, and had to tell kids to watch out, and actually had to nudge one kid out of my way, but i still managed to run a PR and a strong time. Big deal, I had to swerve around a little bit and run on the side of the path. Thats what XC is all about. it was NOT twenty, mayyybe 10, but that's a stretch.

yes, you can, but you'd still have the polo fields left to finish....
Seriously, under 16:30 would put you among the top 5 kids in Sec VIII this year... are you among them?

i ran 17:00 for 2.5 miles at vanny....what would my 2.5 be at bethpage...and what should my 3.1 at bethpage be?

not easy to predict as there are so many other factors involved.... weather, fitness level, less crowding at BP, etc.. but a 17 flat at VCP could be ( I said could! ) worth about 20:30-20:45 for the 5K at BP.... 17:00 for the 2.5 at VCP might be worth 16:40 at BP... very hard to say as the 2.5 at BP has been run very few times and after next week may never be run again.... ever..

These numbers are off.
MoHills avged 13:16pt. Quite a bit away from 13:12. They did, however, run very well, as was expected from a team with such strength and depth. They ran 12:52, 13:04, 13:16, 13:22 and 13:53 (results on armorytrack)
Slightly off day for Lewis, who ran 12:57 last October. Cannavo, whom I understand has struggled with a knee injury this summer, was 30sec slower than he was in the Regis meet last year.

that isn't depth...that's a very weak 5th if you ask me...

Well, I would say that a team that had 5 guys at 16:59 or better at Holmdel (last year), and had their 4th/5th man in at 13:22/13:53 on Sept 17th this year is a "deep" team. You may feel differently.
BTW, the MoHills 6th man has gone 13:57 at Vanny (I believe).

I'm seeing Morris Hillls 5th man at 14:10 in the results. Either way that is a very weak 5th man. Also, last year does not count for anything, it's what they've done this year that matters. Things will be much more clear after Manhattan Invite. Good luck the rest of the way.

"16 MA? MH? 13:53.4" is Ryan Uhrynowich of Morris Hills.

Exactly, their 5th man was 13:53, not 14:10.
4th man was 13:22
