"I am coming there to run fast, I am coming to Salt Lake with a purpose and that is to break 8:40!"
Anyone else dissapointed with Cory Thorne's performance in Salt Lake? Any explanations?

Yes. Can't fault his enthusiasm and genuine excitement in this meet. However, it was a poor run the other night. The first thing I thought when I saw those results, "Maybe he should focused on just breaking 9:40...or 9:50 for that matter". Oh well, this meet was worth nothing. Hope he does better in Raleigh.
Also, who knows he might have been hurting or sick.

Or realized he wasn't goign to run fast after thepace went out in 62, not to mention ran at an altitude he's never experienced probably.

Maybe the article was a typo and he actually meant 9:40
