Johnson ran 16:16 for 5k at the Murray invite after going out in about 40th place due to getting boxed in.
Budge recently ran a 13:26 4200 meters, defeated Johnson at the Bob Firman invitational with a 16:29 5K and has been one of the top 3 4A competitors in every race this year.
Shields just won the Wasatch Rendevous with a 15:10, one of the top times ever for that 2.94 mile course. He has the edge but can he hold of a determined Budge and 1st year runner Johnson?
Status up to date:
Mike Budge East 13:26 best for 4200 meters
Jeremiah Jonhson Cyprus 16:16 best for 5000 meters
Rex Shields Springville 15:10 best for 2.94 miles
Conclusion: taking out all competition except 4A this could be a very competitive race.
