I read a Runner's World article that said that most runners don't have their gluteals and hamstrings developed enough so they have problems "swinging through" their strides. How do you work out those muscles at home?

See the threads below this on squats and deadlifts.

Is there another alternative exersize to strengthening the hamstrings? I do a lot of squats but i hate the hamstring curls and it feels like the squats are only helping my quads.

I am going down parallel and lower when I'm squatting so I guess it is helping my hamstrings, but I really don't feel it. I'm not lifting too much right now, but when I was a my strongest, my max was about 350. And the straight leg dead lifts I also do but it feels like more of a stretch for me. How much weight should I put on the straight leg dead lifts to strengthen my hamstrings?
