I'm not sure if it was in Tremonton or not but you've all heard about it. The van, full of USU agriculture students, blew a tire and rolled off the freeway. Seven were dead at the scene, two more have died since.

I didn't know anyone involved in the accident but it's affecting me quite a bit. I can't imagine what it feels like on the USU campus right now, students and faculty. It's not that huge of a college, so I'm sure most students at least knew of or had a class with someone that died.

Anyone here have any feelings about it? Anyone know any of the students that were killed? It's one of the worst tragedies of it's kind I've ever seen.

I heard about that. It is very sad. I remember a couple years ago when a van full of cross country runners rolled and killed a whole team. I think it was in Wyoming, but I could be wrong. That kind of stuff is alway scary to hear about.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it was a college team from Wyoming.

On the other hand, I had a good friend that ran for BYU and Long Beach Poly in high school. His team was driving from Long Beach, CA to Fresno, for the FL West championships. Their van rolled several times. For some reason, EVERY one of the people in the van turned out fine. This friend of mine even took 11th and almost qualified for nationals the next day. Strange stuff.

I am so glad I never have to run at that stupid course at Mt. SAC again!

I am a student and Utah State and this tragedy has hit hard for everyone assoicated with the school. We are blessed to have received many, many condolences from universities and colleges around the nation.

One of my friend's fiance was killed in the accident. They were to be married in December. This is the second tragedy that particular family has suffered, as they had another son pass away in an accident while he was serving an LDS mission.

The two passengers who survived have now reached stable condition. However, prayers on their bahalf, and the behalf of those who loved and cared for the nine who have gone on, would be appreciated.
