I had heel pain for about a week causing me to completely take off and just ice and stretch for 4 days. I went to a podiatrist and he said I had Plantar Fasciitis or PF. But he hooked me up with a sock-like thing that elevates my heel, and gave me shot until he can hook me up with some orthodonics. I went for a run today and it did not hurt AT ALL. I was wondering, in general, does PF ever eventually heal completely?

Well, I had pain most of the time (e.g. when I walked as well as when I ran) but it hurt the most when I ran. However, I didnt have any pain in my pf so I thought I just had a heel spur. Needless to say I was surprised when I found out I had pf.

I had PF in 9th grade, but have not noticed any heel pain in the last 2 years.

I had PF and still do, I don't think it ever COMPLETLY heals because I had to get orthodics towards the middle of XC and if I don't wear them it will flare up here and there.

I had PF, during my achillies stint a long time ago. It ran with it, and it went away eventually. I credit flats for helping me. Consider it.

my coach had PF in collage and it healed up. He just recently got it again something like 10-14 years later and after about a week he is back doing a little running. He has only been healing up for a week or two so he won't do any more track workouts with us but it seems he will keep running distance after staying off of it for only a short time.

This makes sense. PF is directly attributable to modern footwear. Go barefoot or minimalist to eliminate the condition.
