Seriously?

That's a national record by 9 seconds or so.

It was a 4 x 1500 relay, not a 4 x Mile Relay! This is the site for the results http://www.mctrack.org/NJCatholicTrack/NJCTCST/05ctcrelst.htm

hey lambo -- you got a confirmed CBA Penn DMR lineup for us? Leach on the 12 with Horel anchoring or Leach anchoring?

With Wheat running 4:14.0 on lead off compared to Horel's 4:13.3 running start, might be a possible leadoff leg there. What's Wheat's 800 PR? He is a bigger kid and would be able to mix it up a little better if there is jostling at the start.

leach is almost a lock to anchor with horel taking the 3/4, according to the coaching staff. with leach as the leadoff, cba would have a great shot at leading heading into anchor. but we all remember what happened last time cba had the lead in the dmr at penn on the anchor. poor nat glackin. that had to be the worst situation ever for any anchor to be in.

horel is a very talented runner, but they don't want to leave him hanging out to dry. plus, all reports are that leach is in best shape of his life and ready to spring a low number.

i will guess that horel was running solo, while wheat had some folks to run with. wheat is a good runner - 4:29 1600 indoors from scratch, but i don't think he's better than horel - maybe close, but heath will take the experienced kid every time - especially leading off a penn DMR.

But it gives them another option to look at, in my opinion. Do you know Wheat's 800m PR? If it is consderably faster than Horel (1.5 seconds or more), he has a chance of putting up a better 1200m number than Horel.

I had thought about that too - even before this weekend. But Horel is much faster over the mile/1600 - and I don't think wheat is that much faster than Horel over 800. In addition, Horel has the experience, regardless of times. It is one thing if you are trying to steal a race, but, no offense to Wheat, you just don't know what you might get. Speaking from personal experience, it sucks to be in that position, but I don't think any team can chance having a 3:15 leadoff.

Horel will probably not win the race for CBA, but I doubt he'll be the one to lose it either. He's a solid runner - and it makes the race that much easier to plan for.
