???????????? I mean it is the home of highschool track and all but this is a little different. Have we ever had parents of athletes post before? I kinda feel that it will force us to use severe restraint when evalutating the performances of individuals and teams. :(

xc1800dino: PLEASE NO MORE PERSONAL ATTACKS! I am sure that your mother would be offended if she read something like that about you. :(

Who cares? You shoudn't say stuff you would be ashamed of others to hear anyways. If parents of high school students want to come on a high school track site, that's their prerogative.

more like the other way around there guy. if they are offended by what kids say on a high school track site, maybe they should go access a 50 year old track site. better yet, why not stay off the internet all together.

This thread is highly immature. So what if people's parents frequent the forums? We have our own opinions, they can have theirs too, just as we have our own biases. It's not fair to feel the need to censor your opinions because of who reads it. I'm sure that as adults, the parents of runners (including Mrs. Hall) are capable of listening with an open mind. You should be too.

Well, here's your answer-
(quite surprised to find this question as a thread title)
I really thought this board was for people who are interested in NY state runnning.
I follow many runners stats and have been reading these boards for quite a while. Often times I come here for early results to races or to see peoples predictions. This is just one more source of info that I read to keep up on NY state runners. I follow it all quite closely - much more than most parents I know. I like being able to talk intelligently to Ben about it.
Everyone is entitled to their opinions. I'm not here to defend or attack anyone else or their opinions.
Thanks to the couple of you who didn't see my post as an issue.

xcmom, i didnt mean offense, its just you are the first parent to post on the board, to my knowledge. At first i didnt know what to think but now i understand you are just interested in track and want to learn and follow current advents.

no offense taken.
Believe me - I realize how few parents follow this to the extent that I like to. I realize that to many of you it seems odd.

Sometimes my dad posts on here under my name. Also, there are many NY high school alums with children who now run who post on here. I have never thought of this site as exclusively for high schoolers.

There are LOTS of parents who read and post on these boards. I have gotten PMs from a number of them. There are also coaches, of course.
It IS a great source of info on high school and college running and a good way to follow results from other states.
Welcome, parents.
