are there any rules for runing barefoot in mass? i think it would be cool

I think the NFHS rulebook states that shoes must be worn and then goes so far as to define what a shoe is.

shoes must be worn for the start of the race only? or for the entire race?
ive heard discussions regarding cross country runners planning to take off their spikes during a race in hopes of legally running barefoot for (most of) a race.
If a shoe were to come off during the race and the runner finished that would be okay. If it was determined to be intentional then there would be a disqualification.

Jon, just wear a large pair of spikes and keep the laces very loose and hope that you can kick off the spikes in the middle of the race.

Just make a deal with someone else to give a dramatic push...and kick it off in your 'stumble'.

in cross country this year i lost one of my spikes right at the start of the race and then about 3 min later i kicked the other one off and so happens in was in front of a judge and he didnt say anything to me
