Ah, memories.
DeSoto was always a big deal for me because it was the ONLY synthetic track in our league. Everywhere else in the league we ran was cinder at that time. In fact, my dad used to drive me up there twice a week to train on that track when I was running AAU Junior Olympics when I was fourteen.
My school mile record was set at Shawnee Mission North 23 years ago, which was also prom night. I took my tux with me to the meet, showered and changed at a friends house and showed up for prom late. My best friend (now a leukemia researcher at St. Jude's Children's hospital in Memphis with both an M.D. and a Ph.D.) picked my date up and took her to prom with he and his date. I walked in, my date looked at me and asked, "Did you do it?" When I said yes, she asked, "What was your time?" I told her and she responded, "Great! Congratulations! I knew you could do it! Now I don't want to hear anything else about it the rest of the night."
Seems like yesterday...

Drake Relays I leave for tomorrow! I used to live in Des Moines, so I'm more excited about the trip then the race. It's a blue track that with a "U" shaped seating 3/4 of the way around the track. I can't wait!

I can't wait till i get to go to the famous drake relays, however this year they are the same weekend as penn which might take a few people away, but we have region 6 meet already, our season is almost over.
What are you running tyler?
I will also be at Drake. Our 4x4 qualified so I'll be doing that
