Would've been county champs - and contending for an MOC crown if Bri J had attended.

Add in C. Forys, and many years ago J. Coyle, and they've been getting hosed.

Can't speak for the others, but if you ever had the opportunity to meet Mr. Coyle (the father) you'd know he is probably the most Catholic man you'll ever meet.

There's a reason why Coyle attended Notre Dame, and it wasn't because of the cross country team. Coyle, like many CBA students, attended Catholic schools from kindergarten through college.

Howell HS is part of the Freehold Regional System. Each of the 6(?) High Schools have special programs that students can apply to be part of. For example I think Howell's specialty is ROTC or Dramatic arts or something like that. Anyway, that is why you will see some students from Freehold and other towns in the regional system attending Howell HS, and others from the town of Howell attending Freehold and others. In addition, the northern section of Howell is districted to go to Colt's Neck HS. Lindsey Gallo was from Freehold and attended Howell because of the specific special program Howell HS offered at that time.

Is true about Freehold District schools having specilties, but this is a way for some sports to recruit. Colts Neck coach is well respected and any runner who has talent in the Freehold area would be crazy not to go there.

My intention here is not to be rude, but all of the people involved in this thread know all about the Freehold District. It has been discussed ad nauseum.

any talented runner from the freehold area would have to apply for, and be accepted to, one of the magnet programs. i believe forys is in the naval rotc program, possibly bri j too. many programs require a test. they don't accept just anyone.

any prospective CBA student has to take the entrance exam. (think SATs for 8th grade kids). contrary to popular wisdom, simply filling in C-B-A-C-B-A over and over again on the scantron sheet will NOT get you in.

So sorry to make you reread something that has been discussed a million times. If you don't like what I post skip over it. In addition, I don't personally know who any of the posters on this site are. It seemed as though the thread starter on this subject wasn't sure why those athletes didn't attend Howell HS either. If I misinterpreted that than so be it. I didn't realize you were supposed to have prior knowledge to all subjects to be eligible to post information.

Pity we don't share the same intention, DD

If your intention was not to be rude then why did you have to even post about it. I was just trying to shed some light for someone. Being relatively new to the boards and not personally knowing those who were on the thread how would I know that? I only posted the info. once, it's not like I repeated myself 60 times. Anyway, my apologies if you thought I was rude.
