It was interesting to see the dominance that West Valley of Fairbanks Alaska displayed in their routing down in Oregon. Wow. Anyone who leaves them off the Northwest list is nutz.

They deserved to be in the top two at least.

Jesuit is a good team but I don't know how they got ranked ahead of teams who beat them. My picks for the rankings would be:
1) Gig Harbor
2) West Valley Fairbanks AK
3) Boise
4) Jesuit
There should probably be a run off in cases like these.
Aren't there a couple of free weeks in between anyway?

That might not be a good solution though as it would be expensive for Fairbanks to travel to additional meets.

1) Gig Harbor
2) West Valley Fairbanks AK
3) Boise
4) Jesuit
Perhaps West Valley should be ranked ahead of Gig Harbor too though.

sorry, i meant that west valley should be in front of jesuit, along with boise...they both beat jesuit head to head....theres no favoritism towards Portland area teams at all haha

Boise should be #4 in the NW. You can't even compare the Jesuit team they beat at Danner (5 weeks before the Oregon/Idaho state meet) to the end of the year team. Boise showed no improvement from Danner to the end of the year. A 2:10 spread isn't going to beat a 9 second spread in a meet of any size. I spent an hour or two reviewing teams at Danner and then the Oregon state meet. No team showed anywhere close to the improvement between the two meets as Jesuit did. The top 20 girls at Danner that also ran at the Oregon state meet averaged 40 seconds slower at the state meet. Jesuit's six state meet runners that also ran at Danner averaged 6 seconds slower at the state meet. Their 5th runner at state didn't even run at Danner.
Put Gig Harbor, Jesuit, and West Valley in any order 1-3 and I won't argue with the ranking. I strongly feel that Boise is #4. I'd love to review any logic of why Boise at the END of the year should be ranked above Jesuit. The victory at Danner was nice, but it isn't a free pass for the rest of the year.

Not a more worthy at large group IMO! I lived on Eielson AFB for three and a half years, so I know what you guys are dealing with up there. I hope you've kept up the training in spite of the uncertainty and in spite of the weather! God bless you all!

yay!!! lol
for some reason i really wanted them to get in :D
Now we don't have to argue about which girl's teams from the NW deserved to go. Congrats to all the qualifiers. I am very glad West Valley gets the chance to run next weekend.
