Loved those photos of Bush walking hand-in-hand with the Saudi prince. The Texan in him must have been having a heart attack.

One of the Texas newspapers published the picture placed, unfortunately, next to a headline that said:
"House Bans Gay Unions."

That made my day. :D

Actually, it seems to me that the American homophobic, claustrophobic, don't-get-within-three-feet of me-unless-we-are-married attitude is more of a local custom.

Worldwide, the norm seems to be much closer contact/more "touchy-feely" than we have in the USA.

(Perhaps a more experienced traveler could offer some input on this.)
