We did this before, awhile ago. Kinda fun.

My best today is 114 wpm gross, 109 net. Can anyone beat that?

(I did it for just a minute -- I don't know how anyone can stand to do it for 10.)

On a good day I might hit 50 if you give me nice short words.

Use both hands, Ken!!

I do, all four fingers!

I needed to warm up a bit. The first one I got 101 wpm, 89 net. I did it a second time and got 105 wpm, 97 net. Now, I need to rest my fingers...

Edit: did it a third time, 114 wpm, 103 net. I've almost caught you, MoMo... My biggest problem is starting to get interested in what I'm reading and forgetting that I'm supposed to be typing fast...

Still trying to take out momo... 4th time I did it - 117 wpm, 108 net. I'm averaging those two numbers and saying that I'm a better typist :D

Damn. Gotta flex these aging fingers and try again, I guess...

(Should we have age categories? ;) )

121 and 118...

How do you like THEM apples??? :D

Yea...but how accurate are you two gentlemen?!

Give me Ken's perfect (I would assume) 50wpm any day over 120+wpm with more errors than Charles Barkley’s dissertation.

The "net" score accounts for accuracy. In my last post I had typed more words than MoMo, but also had more inaccuracies.

And, just so you know MoMo, I would go back to typing but I'm really busy right now. I'm giving a big powerpoint talk tomorrow, so typing games have to take a backseat. Sunday, though, I'm practicing all day. And you are Going Down.

MoMo and Jwacks could beat me with 3 fingers (31 WPM…..net!), luckily I’ve mastered Word 2003’s voice interpolation feature, work smarter not harder :D

67 net, 63 gross or something, but it is almost 6am, so I'll have to try another time to get a better score...

Yeah, not fair, insects twitch so fast, Littlesting. Did you get the good news on all those carnivorous bee-hungry toads belly-up with their evil tongues hanging limp?

Hahahahahahaha.

EDIT to put usefulness to the post.

I just did it again and got into the 80's in top speed, and higher 70's Net.

(Spoken):
Half-a-bee, philosophically
Must ipso-facto half not-be.
But half the bee, has got to bee
Vis-a-vis its entity ... d'you see?
But can a bee be said to be
Or not to be an entire bee
When half the bee is not a bee
Due to some ancient injury?

Singing...

La di di, a-one-two-three
Eric The Half-A-Bee
A-B-C-D-E-F-G
Eric The Half-A-Bee
Is this a-wretched demi-bee
Half asleep upon my knee
Some freak from a managerie?
NO! It's Eric The Half-A-Bee!
A-fiddle-di-dum, a-fiddle-di-dee
Eric The Half-A-Bee
Ho-ho-ho, tee-hee-hee
Eric The Half-A-Bee
I love this hive employ-e-e
Bisected accidentally
One summer afternoon by me
I love him carnally
He loves him carnally
Semi-carnally. The end.

(Spoken):
Cyril Connolly?
No, semi-carnally
Oh
(Sings): Cyril Connolly
(whistles)

I started the thread on this a long time ago. My best was 103 net with no mistakes. I'm a stickler for accuracy.

I hit 95 wpm with no mistakes. I'll see later if I can join the immortals in cracking the 100 wpm barrier!

What test does everyone think is easiest?

I just did Aesop's Tales and hit 123/121.

hmm..not necessarily exceptional.

40 net 41 gwpm

I guess this will make everyone appreciate whatever I have to say, bearing in mind it took me a long time to type it!

Pretty impressive for that test.

I find the "What is a Cast?" test to be easiest. I just hit 123/120.
