Good job aislyn ryan on winning that DMR...I wish i had an anchor leg that was atleast 10 seconds faster than everyone else in the race (at PENN), it must be nice for mark to know she only has to handoff within 100m of the lead in order to win...

I agree with monwoodrunner. Aislinn by far is the most talented girl on the team. As a matter of fact...she is the team. Without Aislinn on the team, Robotti, Mark, and Young would be nothing.

Guys....
Be fair. Ryan is a tremendous talent but she can't win a DMR or 4x8 all by herself. She will have a chance to team up with other stars in college but right now she needs her Warwick teammates.
Of course they benefit from her being a member of their team. Let them enjoy the records and victories they achieve without diminishing their contributions.

To say that Warwick's DMR would be nothing without Aislinn is incorrect. Of course, Aislinn is an extremely talented runner, but her teammates deserve just as much credit as her. And if I am not mistaken Young had the fastest 400 split out of every DMR team entered, 58.2.

I dunno if your complimenting them or being sarcastic about it... so ill leave it at this- aislinn is an incredible athlete and certainly gave warwick what it needed to win, but theres still a rediculas amount of schools in this nation that even with aislinns leg wouldnt have the talent in the 1200, 400, 800 legs to win penn... everybody from warwick deserves the credit for that DMR and aislinn would tell you the same...

As for you... its people like you that should hang themselves from the rafters of an old abandoned barn... id be willing to bet even if your team had a 4:10 or 4:05 miler that you couldnt have won penn's DMR

i think somebodys just jealous because warwicks girls teams DMR owns their guys teams DMR.... where did you gain the right to bash on a team that got first at penn relays?
i think he was saying it as a compliment to aislinn, not dissin the rest of the team

no **** man shes the most talented girl on the team , shes got 3 national championships under her belt, 1 cross 2 indoors.......
and btw, warwicks dmr would be nothing without aislinn, young could be replaced by a 4 or 5 second slower leg and warwick's dmr still would have won.

Yeah, she is an amazing athlete, but she is not the team. Yes, if that was an individual event, she would have ran amazing and probably won, but this was not. It was a RELAY, where FOUR people run. I did not see Aislin run all four legs on her own. Their DMR is something, yes, without Aislin they would not be as great, but they still are.

Amanda Robotti (3:43.8), Jaclyn young (58.3), Melissa Mark (2:17.6), Aislynn Ryan (4:48.0)
Those spilts are all extremely fast, and they certainly would not be "nothing" without Aislinn. Also, you claim, that Young could be replaced by a leg 5 seconds slower, that is a testament to the strength of ALL their legs...not just Aislinn.
If the other three legs combined with a 5:12 1600 leg, they still
would have placed 5th and won medals. A great feat for Penn.
This shows how well the other three ran.

First off: Aislinn is indeed an amazing runner yes. but how could you possibly have the nerve to belittle the rest of Warwick's DMR team??? Melissa Mark, Amanda Robotti, and Jackie Young are some of the most disciplined runners i have ever had the experience to watch. They work so incredibly hard to achieve the status they now have. The fact that you would say that Aislinn(get the spelling of her name right too before you make smart a** comments) alone made the DMR team win just shows how arrogant and bitter you are. Id love for you to go and watch Robotti, Mark, Young, Ryan, and the rest of the Warwick team Practice. these are girls that PUSH themselves harder than anyone so they can prove that they truly are National Champions. Jackie young ran a 58.1 400--without that warwick may not have won the DMR. same goes for Mark and Robotti. they ran great splits--without them aislinn couldnt win the race alone. Think before you make such an ignorant comment. You belittled the amazingly hard work, dedication, and drive these girls all have yet, i dont see you winning penn relays and nationals....

don't hate what you aren't .... I am 99.9% you have never placed first at Penn Relays and never will
FYI the baton doesn't get to the anchor leg by itself
But I am a section IX champion.

I'm a warwick runner and i see them all working their butts off. So they all should be treated the same way.
i am too. ive been watching these girls run since their freshmen year. every year they get more determined and continue to work harder and harder to achieve what the feel is truly theirs. Congrats to them. :o

Aislinn's DMR got lucky that Saratoga didn't run or they would have wooped on Warmick and then you guys wouldn't even be arguing so just leave it at. Saratoga killed last year and if they would have run this year they would have done the same...4 FL finalist on there team...there unstoppable and the best girls high school XC team ever..without a doubt
I believe that the current Saratoga team only has TWO Footlocker
finalist on the squad!

Ummm, what was Saratoga's winning time in the DMR last year? It was 11:45.2...that's only two seconds faster then Warwick's winning time this year, and under TOTALLY different conditions. You cannot compared the two races. Also, two of the four Footlocker finalists are no longer running for Saratoga...and even if all four of them were still on the same team, I'm almost positive that Davidson or Lane wouldn't have been running the 400m leg. Or they at least wouldn't have ripped a 58.2 like Warwick's Young. Besides that...let's leave XC for an XC thread.
