Fay-Man is a TOUGH team. First a 12:48 avg at Vanny, now a 10:14 DMR all alone. Impressive.

In answer to some questions above ... John (JD) Gruenewald is a senior and Tom’s brother .. JD is an All-State and All-American soccer player.
Andrew McCann is recuperating from an injury and has not been competing.
Owen Kimple’s 1200 meter relay split (3:05) had 400m fractions (in order) of: 60-65-60 ... Jared Burdick’s 800m split (1:57) was the first time he has broken 2:00
Fayetteville-Manlius would like to run the DMR at Nike Outdoor Nationals, but FM’s graduation date was moved to the same weekend as NON.

Graduation or Nationals? It sounds like a no brainer... I guess they are going to Nationals?

yeah, Burdick is a senior and i'm also sure Tom would want to go to his brother's graduation.....so that takes 3 legs out of the relay

Unless Newton North and/or Phillipsburgh are running, why would CN? I could see them loading for a fast 4x800 to compliment there DMR results.

farrel wont help fayetville run fast at all, they will be to far back after the first 400 to do anything. Kimple, out in 60? no 1 from farrel will be there to push him. they have a good 1000 runner but kimple went thru the 1k in like 2:35 or so im sure and farrels guy cant hang with that. 3:05 is a ridiulous leg. they need a big big time meet for competition from the gun. CN and NN could definatly get them on the anchor (obviously NN) but in a race with NN, Kimple could run with there 12 guy (3:06?? at penn) so NN is the team on the east coast right now that would help fayetville run a 10:10 or whatever there goal is. This will b a NASTY NASTY dmr next year. keeping there 2 big legs and McCann and company can help out

1 Jeff Carbonella Monsignor Fa 2:33.76
Outdoors there is a big possibility he could run 3:06. Heck didn't NN's leadoff only run 2:33?

yeah thats the one guy i said they had that was good at the 1k but he hasnt run under 3:10 yet and 3:10 is a huge difference from 3:05-3:06, but he is a very good 1k runner, i agree ryan...

but he split 3:11 at penn and 3:10 at NSIC. Dan Lewis could possibly do it too since he is a 4:22 1600 runner and ran 2:01? in the early indoor season.

ok, maybe im a little wrong on this, farrel could tag along for at least 2 of kimples laps i suppose. but running 60-65-60 in his first real race of spring with Fayetvilles peaking habits looks extremly promising for the 1600 meters at states

Farrell is a strong team, no question, but I think the best NYS squad to run with F-M will be North Rockland. I think CJ leading off would provide a thrilling duel for Kimple (and both are outstanding and proven runners). Martinez will have a faster anchor than Gruenewald but the 800m and 400m legs are still lacking. As I recall, though, they still have a faster time this year than F-M, so their most important legs can haul it when they need to.
McCann or Heron should be able to drop a 1:56-1:59 next year (I should hope) and with Kimple and TG improving, I can only see this crew getting faster next year. But I'm a Burdick fan, so I'd like to see them run really fast this year, too.

Rockland has NOT run faster than FM 10:14 , and where were they at Penn?
Also Carbonella who also split 50.2 at Penn , has talent, whether he will run it or not to run under 3:09

I did not see the race but a coach I know that did, said that he thought T. Geunewald and (believe it or not) Kimple looked like they both could have gone faster and had something in the tank at the end.

just to throw another thing out there, what do u guys think FM could run in a 4xmile this year?
next year i think will be better with heron, mccann, gruenwald and kimple all being seniors but this year do u guys think about a 17:25 or 17:30?

Speaking of North Rockland, nice job by Martinez and Jamieson the other day at the Cornwall Steeplefest - 9:27.1 for Martinez (1st) and 9:35.7 for Jamieson (3rd). Travis Wolfe of Tri-Valley was 2nd in 9:29.6.

To determine what they might be able to run use the Illinois/York Fan Method:
The formula is (PR+PR+PR+PR)-15=projected time.
