The Goddard meet is on Friday. There is always some good perfomances at that meet. i am not sure what teams will be there at this point, but it should be Goddard, Maize, Bishop Carroll, Pratt, Liberal, McPherson, Winfield, and others. Usually it is about an 11 team meet.

Yeah, I forgot about Bishop Carroll being there, as the distance races will be strong. I am hoping for sub 4:30.
I am looking forward to league also. Even with only 6 teams in our league the 1600 will be deep. I think all these guys would run the 1600.

We don't have a league anymore(Huron League broke up last year). So I have two very large meets right before regionals. SMN has 33 teams and St Joe Benton has 15 teams. Friday(SMN) is on a State-Like schedule. The 3200m is the first final I believe. And then the 800m is at like 8:30. The meet usually runs until at least 11:00. And at St. Joe Benton I run the 1600m, 800m, and the 4X400m. Our team isn't very good. I am the second fastest sprinter and am a distance runner.

Another team that will be there is Valley Center. There will be good distance races. I think that 4:35 might not even score in the 1600. That is if everybody runs and the conditions are right. But last year it was windy and I got 3rd with a 4:42 behind Umberger and Scooter(I think the first time he beat me). And in the 800 I won with like a 2:05 because everyone took out slow and I just out kicked everyone I think my splits were like 64-61. :)

ahh yes i was happy about that one because you edged me at the line at maize and beat me a few other times so it felt good to finally get you.

I'm not sure yet if I'll be tripling. We might run a stacked 4x8 for a last shot at our school record. I'm in a delimma because I want to get the record, but the 1600m competition will be an ideal time to run high to mid(hopefully) 4:20s and if I'm in the 4x8 it will be a lot tougher to pull that off. I don't respond well to short rest and that's what happened last year at league. I got about 10 minutes from the 4x8 to the 1600 and ran a 4:44. I didn't even get a chance to get my spikes off.

Our league isnt till next week. Friday we go to Colby and that Ulysses kid hopefully wants to run fast in the 1600. It would be nice to go under 4:40. 800 I'm just going to run for the win and hopefully hold something back so we can get a good 4x4 time in.

It is amazing how tough this league is. Although I have to say in CC it seemed that having only 6 teams in the meet made for more diffucult team scoring - in that because the meet was so small there was very little points spread..I thought it might make more sense in CC to combine the meets somehow so that 12 teams all ran together, but separate titles given for each 6 team division...what do you think? was a 6 team meet too small for CC? and eventhough the distance races look great - tell me how the meets seems with just 6 school- does that help or hurt in track meet scoring. There will be 18 athletes per event max. which actually seems good - so for track is might be a benefit.

ya for cross i didnt like it, there was no one to run with, it may look like i had people to run with by my times but i was catching up alot of the time, i wish that the WHOLE AVCTL would run together then split them up, that way more comp and easier on everyone else.

You need to tell your coach - then the coaches could vote to combine the meet in some form for next year...cause I was thinking the same thing you said about the competition when I read the results...it would have been a great meet combined, but seperated out into 4 six team meets didn't look like the best way to run it.
One way could run all 24 teams and put up 4 different shutes (for team scoring)
Or run altogether - same finish shutes, but still give 4 different division titles
or combine DIV 1 and 2 for one race and 3 with 4 for the other.

I could not put up any more 800 times due to the fact that it was getting in the real slow times. Hopefully there is a times out there for the 800 that have been missed. But the other distance races should be great.
