THey see each other every week, but is gill as good at track as he is at x-c? Amirault ran 420, gill was in the 427-429 range. Polgar is the top returner too, he looks really strong coming off of his xc season.

It's eery that you guys beat us in the soccer tournament. Hopefully, not a sign of things to come.
EDIT: Back to a more relevant subject, it looks like the two mile could have a lot of surprises. Only a couple guys under 9:40 outdoors last year. De Pina(I guess) is the favorite, but Gill and Amirault could change that by moving up. However with the 4x800 so close to the deuce I'd doubt either of those guys would double 2mile-4x800. Only Barnicle can do that.

Well its possible that they have a tougher qualifying standard I suppose, maybe its not a typo. The boys 600 m qualifying standard is also harder for Division 3 than for Division 2, and the hardest 800 m relay standard is for Division 3.

:)
The answer to the question is "Yes, he could run in any of the MSTCA meets as long as his principal/A.D. signs the entry. By doing this it means the school is a member of the MIAA and the athlete is a student in good standing at the school.
This could be done for any indoor meet this winter (MSTCA, NE @ Harvard, Brown, Dartmouth, BU meets, etc.) The only meets that are "OUT" are the Class/State meets. If the school signed up and paid the MIAA fee, they could run.
I hope they run.!!

No way will an AD sign something like that !
I dealt with this as coach of an unattached runner (school didn't have xc or indoors). By signing that they are confirming that they have a team that follows all the MIAA rules covering practices, competitions, insurance, and when you can use the toilet.
They would be subject to penalties if they didn't actually field a team and they signed that entry form.
The athlete could however run in those other non-high school meets.
The AD doesn't need to get involved in those, in fact you enter as unnattached or as a club runner and school uniforms aren't allowed.

Well Ryan Collins is the top returner from All-States at 9:56.15 (PR?) and after an excellent cross country season, he should be ready to take chunks off that time. The other sub 10 guys like Ogilivie, Forbes, Anastos, Gibson should definitely be up there, but the picture will be much clearer once we see which or if the top milers will move up.
I pick Mark Amirault to win.
Doug Brecher 9:41 2 mile last year.
Also remember for big schools that the 4x800 is right after the deuce so you will have little rest at all if you attempt to score in the 2 mile and as part of a relay. I'd be surprised if Amirault coming from the theoretical top 4x800 team would run the deuce. Anastos would have the problem also.

Anyone else have a problem with the 4x8 being right after the duece? I know it's tough to do, but I wish there could be an order of events where kids could run their best events, and be able to contribute on a relay team.

Myself I ran 2:42 by myself, but the race of the day was another heat where Charlie Meade and Chris O'day had a duel and got the exact same time at around 2:41 I think O'day got the win for w/e reason he kinda slowed towards the finish

I know they are not the best times in mass so far but considering they were in dual meets in the 160yd Methuen high fieldhouse you have to give credit to Zach Sampson and Pat Fullerton of Haverhill today.
sampson 431 in the mile and fullerton 954 in the 2mile. thats pretty damn impressive considering they had 12 people in their race and ran most of the race in lane 2 cuz of lapping people.

I don't know if they have the overall quickness to do real well in this mile. They can go but usually they're better at 2+ miles.

Sintayehu ran 4:09.69 for the 1600m last year, and Ayalew ran 4:10.00. Last year I think the winning time was 4:13.61y. Doesn't mean they'll win, but I think they'll be fine.

The younger ran 4:09 for 1600 last year as a freshman. If that doesn't equal overall quickness, then I don't know what does.

Talk to me when he runs a 4:09 MILE, then I'll say he's got some speed.

If anything there better at track than xc. Just because they didnt run well at footlocker dosnt mean they choked against elite competition.

MA athletes with multiple event performances listed on current DyeStat elite list.
Can Amirault and Ashe and the others add more listings this weekend at the Relays?
Have many can Amirault qualify for?

Since when is there a 400? Thats a nice double for the same day, but can that 400 time be verified as legit? I know Moreau is capable of running that, but making things up to get your name on dyestat elite should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law

The 300 isn't legit is it? That was a handtimed 36.0; not a 36.00.
He ran that 400m at BU - THAT is legit.

You guys are idiots. I'm not even in high school and I know this. He ran the 400m at the BU meet, yes, FAT. And the 36.0 was at the Reggie, FAT as well. Any more conspiracy theories?

Jon Orander (Wareham) won both sprints, taking the 50 dash in 5.6 seconds then coming back to win the 300 in 39.9. He high jumped 6-1 for the win and threw 42-5 in the shot put, good enough for third against Fairhaven's dynamic duo of Brandon Arbec (first, 47-11) and Jarryd Blanchard (second, 45-8).

200 meter flat/ SBoyd drops another 2 seconds, yet to be stretched at 600m, and has 36.x speed, could be dangerous come February:cool:

In the two mile Polgar ran around 10:00 , Adam Kaye around 10:10 (looked easy), and Jerzy Eisenberg at 10:15

Well if dyestat elite says its the name, then it must be true.

Well if dyestat elite says its the name, then it must be true.
I think he was just pointing out that the meet title was wrong on the Dyestat Elite list (which is assumed to be accurate), and thus may have caused some people confusion, and therefore your hastiness to call them all idiots was rather unjustified.
