What has everybody found to be the best clothing to practice jumping in? I've been a downhill ski racer my entire life and I'm trying track for the first time so I have no idea what to sort of equipment to get for the jumping events. Any suggestions?

don't put too much thought into what you're going to where. it is really not a big deal. i practice in tennis shoes and sometimes spikes and some type of athletic shorts...that's about all that really matters. some guys on my team are covered in under armour from head to toe and have their competition spikes on and the whole deal, but i just think that's rediculous just for practice. in the end it doesn't matter what you look like, it matters how far you go, how much you improved, and what place you got. if it's your first year i'd say just where what's comfortable and have fun.

I just practice in shorts, compressions, t shirt, usually just trainer style sneakers, but sometimes a day or so before a meet i'll throw on my waffles and make sure my steps are right and approach, outdoor i'll throw on my spikes.

I high jump and pole vault for jumping events.
