So now that XC is pretty much done other than a couple teams, who's looking good for indoor? We know most of the distance runners from xc, so how about sprints, hurdles and jumps?

But yeah as for sprints:

Doug Cloninger (Morristown) - This guy will do very good. 11th last year in the 55m at MOC, 10th in the 200m.

Bryant McCombs (Old Bridge) - Will most likely win the 200m and the 400m if he decides to do it.

Shaquan Brown in the 400 battling with Bryant as well.

When you are talking about these two...there is no "most likely" that either will win. They are both so good that on any given day...

Should be a fantastic year for distance relays.

DMR with CBA, MoHills, Ridgewood. Phillipsburg? Wouldn't overlook them either.

Be nice to see MoHills run a 4 x Mile at indoor nationals - I think they (and CBA) have a shot at RBR's state record.

I just realized that, hahaha. Dumb move of mine seeing as how I totally forgot Shaquan ran the 400 while I was typing my post.

Boy, I was out of it.

Well indoors is here! Many HS began practice yesterday and the meets are approaching in the coming weeks. What can we expect from this year? Anything new and amazing? Any new state or class records? Any potential national champs? Any potential outstanding relays?

Well State Records are definately possible. i think the ones most in jeopardy are the 200, 300, 400, and 600 with NJ's 2 400 studs fighting it out. i'de be willing to bet if one of em takes out the 600 state record that he'll take out the national record as well :D . im not sure about class records. i've never actually seen a NJ indoor class records list. Does someone have such a list???

I would be EXTREMELY suprised if McCombs runs a 600 this year...

essex teams usually lace 'em up at SHU (Seton Hall University)

I would definitely like to see some of our top sprinters hook up in a invitational 300m battle! I don't think we've seen a fast 300m in NJ since Jade Smith. And I believe this year's group has what it takes to challenge the state record in the event on the boy's side. With names like Brown, McCombs, Blackie, Cox..ect. And even on the girls side with Cantey, Grant, O'Connor, Friday, Greaves, Nwaneri, ect.

I wonder what the turn out will be for the Seton Hall Games this year, it's been getting relatively weaker each year. I remember the days when it wasn't unusual for girls to run 56 point in the 400m or a sub 6.5 55m.

I think Brown will set NJ records at 300-400 and national again 600, if he runs them all..sometime this year Indoors.

i would consider Adian Sanderson's 300 in 2004 pretty fast. it was only .17 behind the state record (jade smith 33.79)
