Kevin Gill's got a good shot
He's a sophomore... freshman/sophomore meet? And is Brockton even going?
If Haverhill's Fullerton is running it, I bet he'll be a strong favorite.

Polgar'll win easily...but I'm not 100% sure he'll be running the mile cuz i haven't been paying attention, but I bet him or Evan Morse(9:54 2 mile today) will be running it and I wouldn't bet against either of them
Anyone running the 800 btw?

As it turns out Polgar is running the 800(taking away my chances of winning that) but Evan is running the mile according to polgar, and wizard we'll see if he's legit come saturday night
Edit: Wiz I have a feeling you think gill is gonna beat Morse

"...Brockton, Brookline ... Haverhill ... Newton North, Newton South..."
So, no Morris, Longo, Ballenthin, Amirault, Barnicle (I'm assuming), Gagnon, or Polgar.
Narrows it down to Gill, Matias, Fullerton, Morse, and Clifbar.
One of the sophs will take it.

Clifbar could lay down a pretty nasty 400. I don't know of anyone else that is so good that they can look at their watch to get their 200m split during the race.

Cliffy's hit the big time tho, he was in the Newton Tab which specifically cited his 5:12 1600 split at state relays. Way to go cliffy!

I'll have to take your word for it, because I haven't seen anything too close to that from him before. I did find a 4:38 at a December 16 dual meet, but everything since seems to be slower (4:44 20th place at indoor Elite meet; 4:47 26th place at indoor D1 meet). I've got to believe he won't be anywhere near the winner at the end and probably won't crack 4:40.

yore right, (:53 is not that great at this meet, but I was trying to say that he could wreck that because this is his first race this year without doubling and with competition. I think He'll touch that up.

no matias can be odd sometimes. like hes a really good runner and all, a 432 is a very strong time but he can be up and down. if hes on ill put my money on a 4:36/4:37. but when hes off hes off. he works hard though gotta give him some credit, like sh** he trains with barnicle.(word on the street)

I just found out the sickest thing ever. I'm staying in Reston, VA this weekend, and I plan on getting a speed workout in on the nearest high school track. So guess where that is. South Lakes High School.

South Lakes High School.
Heyyyy, didn't Babe Ruth play baseball there?
Ecliptica

Nope, but I'm pretty sure Grant Hill played basketball there (he was from Reston). Good to know that a town in the middle of nowhere can have such a legend emerge from the school.

Actually Reston, Herndon, Centerville, etc. represent a cluster of small communities not unlike that on the South Shore or the region with Brockton/Bridgewater/Silver Lake, etc. Webb and Rickey Harris could have been neighbors!

the odds are leaning towards that so you wouldn't win much money
If the meet is rained out, it could be held on Sunday May 7th, which is Mother's Day, or on May 21st, which is the same day as the South Shore Principals meet.

05-07-2005, 02:12 PM
I hope they don't have it in 2 weeks. That's the date of a lot of league champion ship meets, including the MVC Championship Meet. They'll most likely be missing a lot of competition if they move it until then. Hopefully they'll make it for either tomorrow, which I assume is highly unlikely, or Monday.
MWeekdays are bad days for invitationals, especially this week, since some people are still taking APs.
msweenz
05-07-2005, 06:18 PM
Oh yeah, APs. I completely forgot about those. Yeah, but it still sucks that Weston is going to lose a fair amount of competition.
I guess you'll have to decide which meet is more important to you. :p

That's because the meet probably never happened and, as a result, there was no winner.

The meet happened. After being postponed once for bad weather it was rescheduled for the weekend before the Class meets (I believe). Once again the conditions were terrible, with a cold drenching rain falling for most of the meet. Many teams and athletes never showed up. Toward the end of the meet, no one wanted to stick around.
It's too bad that the results aren't available anywhere.
