Yea, i can't wait to see what he does this year....World Record is definatly not out of reach from him. He's inspiring for any guy who's like 5'9. It takes a lot of hard work and talent to be that good in a decathalon when yuo're that small. To be as good as he is in the hurdles and throwing events at his height is impressive.

I am an APU grad and I remember looking forward to seeing Bryan compete and to meet him at the NAIA Nationals when they were in Olathe KS...I was stunned at his stature but obviously a great competitor and hard worker...I know he will keep up the hard work and continue to do great things...

I saw Clay compete at the 2004 U.S. Olympic Deca Trials and man was this guy "on" . . . and racked up 8660 in Sacramento before getting the silver in Athens with an 8,820!

He just kept PR'ing one after another. The sky's the limit for this young man, listed at 5-11 and 174. He deserves everything that comes his way, cause he is obviously a VERY hard worker and a great competitor!

Clay is one of my new favorite T&F athletes. He's well balanced with all the events, surprisingly strong in the strength events, a classy guy, and a drug free guy. It's crazy how just a year ago, Tom Pappas was all the rage. Pappas looked like he could easily go around 9000 in the next couple years. Clay kind of blew him out of the water next year. I hope Pappas can come back just as good as before and get a good U.S. rivalry going with Clay, kind of like "Dan and Dave", haha, remember? Anyway, Clay rules. He represents USATF well in every way.

Is O'brien still planning a comeback? I heard that maybe six months ago.

Oh he's 5'11? i for smoe reason thought he was 5'9. That's not quite as bad as i thought.

I believe he was the shortest decathlete at Athens (Karpov is listed at 6'6)
