after finishing my run i headed to the training room to get some multivitamins and take a dip in the cold pool for a bit. to keep myself occupied standing balls deep in 50 degree water, i grabbed a catalog that sells lifesaving equipment. swimsuits for lifeguards, CPR manikins, whistles, training dummies, etc. i'm flipping through the catalog and what do i run across......but Fat, Old Fred (http://www.drmass.com/fatoldfredma1.html). amazing, i think to myself. obesity is at such a point that they even make obese CPR manikins to train with. i didn't stop laughing for about 5 minutes.

In wellness class (politically correct gym) at my school, we have a CPR unit. There's a few different types of manikins. There are both male and female ones, however there are also a few old ones that are open (as in you can see the "organs" inside). During class my friend used to take out one of the lungs and hit me with it when the teacher wasn't looking.
Also, there's a single black manikin that everybody used to rush to get when class started.

Hmm...the "wellness program" is the poltically correct name our athletic department gave to drug testing. I'm more fond of the "bladder patrol" and the "piss police."

Where was Fat, Old Fred when I did my BLCS certification back in August? It seemed too easy on the normal dummies. Then again, there was something to be said for having silver paeds dummies whose heads would pop off if you held them incorrectly.
