It probably won't. Dang Man! That broadcast ruled! Somebody sell this dude a copy!
They started out the Elite Mens Sprint Medley. They showed a lot of Webb running 1:48(super fast but third place).
Khadevis Robinson was pretty impressive, but Webb was also.
Unfortunate for Lauren Williams to lose the baton but she redeemed herself later. The entire meet was exciting I've already watched it three times in my tv. It ruled!!! You should try and get a copy of the broadcast. I want to watch it again!!!

I would have liked to seen some highlights of the Boys DMR personally, but i thought they did a good job. Very short commercials. Not too many commentating....keep carol lewis's mouth shut as much as possible is a good thing...i want to see the meet not hear about her talking about Balco...glad to not hear that brought up for once! You kinda get sick of it after they talk about it every meet syaing the exact same things everytime

Compared to what the networks usually do with track meets, I thought this meet was pretty good. I wanted to see the college womens 4x1, or the 4x2 for one or the other. But other than that, it was pretty good.
Carol Lewis needs to be fired or sent to Iraq or something. The US lost the 4x1 in Athens cuz Gatlin didn't anchor?
I didn't think Webb did that great.

Yea i thought that was kinda stupid to say as well...Gatlin still ran a leg..and Green still ran as hard as he could. I doubt it would ahve been much different with them switched. It's not like Gatlin destroyed Green in the 100 at the olympic games. She was talking like Gatlin was some 9.5 100 runner and Green was some bum.

I am not sure if she said they would have won with Gatlin anchoring or they would have just been closer. Anyways, she does have a point. Gatlin won the 100m so I might have preferred him on an anchor. But on other hand Maurice Greene is my 2nd fav USA t&f athlete and has a lot of previous relay experience so maybe he could anchor. But I think it would be best if Crawford was third leg and Miller was first leg.
I think all our USA commentators are great! The only person who slightly annoyed me was Bob Neumeier because in last year's Olympics after the Mens 4x100m final it sounded like he was trying to make the team feel bad after losing. I don't think he congratulated them for the silver. He walked off after obviously pissing them all off. I'm annoyed.
Who is the best commentator of all USA track and field? I am not sure yet, they are all great!!!
Lewis Johnson is hilarious!!!
Do you guys remember when he's like holding a baton and says: "But it all comes down to this, if you can't get the stick around your finished!" and he had some goofy ultimate happy face on. Then Tom Hammond hits him on the head with the baton and Carol Lewis yanks the baton away! That is pretty ultimate!

the parts they showed were pretty good but i was really looking forward to seeing some of the high school races...and they never show any distance races which is what i'm always hoping for so i was a little disappointed. but i guess i'm used to it now, they never focus on anything but sprinting when they show track on tv.

Oh come on. It's the Penn Relays. A relay meet. What are they suppossed to show. The 4 x 1600m Relay. I coach distance I love it, but so much of it is not t.v. friendly. If you want to keep an audience what they showed was fine. There was a nice mix of elites and collegians. At least some people will know who the elites are from the Olympics (non track people of course) and they can tout the next generation with the collegians. They had enough H.S. stuff, and the nice story with the old cats running the 100. They showed the SMR with and 800 and the women's mile. What else do you want. I'm sure no other "distance" race was that compelling at a meet that isn't designed for that.
Very good coverage. Many exciting races.

Did the coverage focus on Webb even after KD had passed him?

She said the reason the US lost was becuase, they didn't put the 100m champion on anchor, She didn't say closer. She was sayng that Gatlin would have caught MLF. Which is so far from the truth. Thats the high school way of putting a relay together. The fastest guy doesn't always go last. Thats not what the anchor leg means. Ben Johnson, was running the 1st leg for Canada while he was running.
The US lost because of Gatlin in reality. A bad exchange between him and Crawford, then an even worse exchane between him and Coby. He also didn't run as fast as he usually does. During a meet that summer he ran 8.9 on the 2nd leg, and in the Olympics he ran 9.1x. If you do the math, the US would have run about 37.6. The 2/10 from his split would bring it down to 37.8x...the time gained from him and Coby having a better exchange would have gained another 1/10 or 2
The only US commentator I can tolerate is Lewis Johnson. Carol Lewis is an idiot and Dwight Stones is a retard. I forget the old guys name, but he has his moments.

i was at the meet so i didn't see the coverage, but our sprint coach relayed to us that carol lewis, before the 4x4 usa v the world, said that it was great to see that andrew rock (who led off) was getting some big meet experience, and that was what the penn relays were all about. but he won a freaking gold medal on the 4x4 at the olympics, was in the 400 finals at the trials, and won tons of D3 championships. just shows how out of touch she is with what is going on.

They didn't focus on him, they showed both USA teams and Jamaica. Later Jamaica faded and they showed both USA teams and South Africa.
Dang! When did everybody start not liking Carol Lewis? How long has she been commentating?
What is it with you guys? Every single USA commentator is hated by somebody. I like them all!
