In another thread, I happened to figure out that NVJumper13 went to the same hs as Aarik Wilson. So I decided what the heck, lets have a thread where we talk about interesting things of people we've met or have connections with through the world of track and field.
I'll get things started:
My club track coach in high school was also Kenny Harrison's(American&Olympic TJ Record Holder and 96 Olympic Champion) coach in high school. Because of this, I got the pleasure of meeting Kenny at one of my meets in high school. Jumping in front of an Olympic Chamion and the best American Triple Jumper ever is kinda cool.
After my senior year in high school I went to compete in a meet over the summer and ended up jumping with Greg Yeldell(Former National HS Record holder in the TJ 53'11"). Greg was incredibly nice, including getting the crowd and other jumpers to get a clap going for me on my jumps, which was a really nice gesture as I was a bit nervous as the only high schooler there.
