A junior from Colorado just ran a 4:18.66 1600m at 5100ft and thinks this qualifies him for Nike's national meet, is this true? What are the general guidelines?

It is short of the standard http://nikeoutdoor.nationalscholastic.org/guidelines.php. Im not sure if they make allowance for altitude at all. The standards though are not set in stone, so Im sure that there is a possiblity that a 4:18 would work, in the past people have gotten in with slower than the guideline times.

These marks are guidelines. Exceptions may be made - right from the site

Tyler Rasmussen from Sterling, CO.
Senior Todd Griffith from Niwot, CO .11 behind in 4:18.77.
What's the generally-accepted conversion for the 1600 at 5000+ ft? 3-4 seconds?
