Hey guys,
I am a Footwear Buyer in the Northeast at a major Sporting goods retailer. I am really trying to grow my track business, and hope to do so by carrying what the track athletes in NE are looking for. I see that this business is poised for immense growth. Can you help me out? Should I be looking at basics entry level shoes, such as Rival's, Jana's from Nike, or Nova Sprints from Adidas or Kennedy's? Also what should I be looking at for an Indoor Shoe. Spikes;no spikes; waffles w/ spike option. Would love to know your toughts on what is missing in the marketplace & where you currently purchase your track shoes.
Thanks.

I agree. The best way to get business is to carry the spikes that nobody else carries. Jasaris, Lanangs, and Ventulus are now rare spikes being replaced by better ones. But people still want the old ones. If you carry the rare ones with the new, you will attract that much more business.

Do not forget the throwers a selection of glide and spinning shoes, would be great the only place you can get them is on line.

Yah, I'm looking around to buy some new spikes, probably milers, and retire my Waffles to XC...

If I were you I would go with the Kennedy’s all year around. Track Kennedy’s feel great in XC, unless there is a lot of a lot of mud, snow, etc on the ground.

Get the old XC Nike Zoom Waffles with removable spikes, the old-school green-and-black ones. The new Zoom Waffles suck, except when there's snow on the ground, in which case they kick ass.

You did not just diss the Nike Zoom Waffles. Those are serious pwnage shoes, snow or not.
