Benson 800M

The Oregonian reported fast times for 2 of Benson's distance guys in the 800M yesterday:

Zuber Ahmed, Benson, 1:54.3
Martin Romero-Clark, Benson, 1:54.5

That's 3 under 1:55. Benson already has Nate Anderson with 1:53.80a.

These guys could grab a sprinter and put together a FAST DMR. Easily sub 10:10.

I thought that they would do that at Pasco. I guess they didn't load it up.

Dang, does Washington have any teams near that speed and depth right now? That's gotta be one of the best 800 teams in the nation

I doubt it. The only teams that probably have a better 800 team is York and Syosett, or whatever that NY school is. Maybe Long Beach Poly, too. They are definitely a top-5 team at least. They amazed me at Westview, but I thought they would have done better at Pasco.

I think they ran it at the Arcadia. A few people were doubling, so they might not've been fresh, but they ran 7:56 and got 5th I think. They could do a lot better now, but they really don't have a very good 4th guy. He's probably run 2:05 - 2:10. As for the DMR, I bet they could get under 10:10.
