there was a thread like this a while ago but if u trained on the treadmill alot, ur almost never outside, could u lose ur pace? i mean u dont know wat pace to run during a race cause the treadmill sets ur pace.

I've only over a mile on a treadmill once this winter, and it had its good and bad sides. The good thing was that I could treat it as a "hard" run and set the speed at a pace that was faster than usual for me, and since the treadmill kept going, it sorta gave you the feeling that you couldn't slow down or you'd get mauled to death, so that felt pretty nice. Although, it did get REALLY really boring.
thats kind of an odd question, but ill take a shot at it. you shouldnt not know what pace to run in a race unless you just dont how to run pace, because the treadmill might stay at that pace you tell it to, you are still running that pace, and more than likely you will not set the speed at a faster pace then is comfortable for you, although when you are training on a treadmill alot and almost never get outdoors, when you do go out and run or race, it will be harder for you to run at that same pace because the wind will be blowing and if its winter then possibally very hard, it will be much hotter/colder outside considering you would have your house at a comfortable temp., not to mention it could be raining, snowing or any other weather could take place and would throw you off
plus the treadmill is boring as crap although i understand that it is sometimes a must if you live in one of the states that gets alot of snow
