anyone have any tips for the steeplechase? i run a 1500 steeple next friday at our invite (i'm in high school) and i was wondering if there were any sort of strategies for the steeple.

don't go out too fast. try to run as evenly as you can (splits-wise), and don't try to hurdle the water pit :p

Ditto...plus, you probably want to leave a few extra minutes to warm up. It's a lot more important to be fully loose for a steeple/hurdles race than it is for a standard distance race. Plus, I always feel a lot more comfortable if I have time to run a few barriers before the race starts...it's just a mental thing, but it can make a big difference.
