Dwight Thomas finished 2nd in 10.09 & Michael Frater finished 3rd in 10.09.
Usian Bolt ran 20.14, and it doesn't sound like he had any competition.
Lashawn Merrit won the 400 in 44.66, with Andrew Rock coming in 2nd in 44.76.
Veronica Cambell ran 22.50
US might have some trouble in the relays this year. I'm sure Dwight will finally go sub10 this year. Usian Bolt if he stays healthy might mess around and run 19.7x With those 3 guys and either Mullings or Frater, Jamaica can go 37.xx

I forget the name, but it was in Kingston. They have this meet every year I believe. A lot of big names are usually there.

Only if they have problems with the baton. The U.S. guys looked GOOD at Penn, hands down. Jamaica knows they better bring it big time if they want to win. There's definately revenge on the minds of the U.S. men.
Merritt seems to be picking up right where he left off. Nice run for Rock too.

When do we NOT have trouble in the relays, at least the 4 X 100?

That last few olympics and WCs where we've won. I think the U.S. is the only country in the world (with PROBABLY the exception of GB) that can whip up on anyone with subpar handoffs. Our handoffs are never superior and the reason being that we don't have our relays preselected, which, in turn, means we can't practice handoffs with the same 4 people. Having said that, I think running 37s with mediocre handoffs at best is saying a lot.

Isn't Mullings banned by the iaaf for the steroids or whatever he took last year?

NO verdict has come down from the Mullings case. Until then, keep your drug allegations of all Barton or all Jamaican sprinters to yourself. In fact, even after the verdict comes down, keep those to yourself. Your attempts to paint everyone who has trained with Mullings with the same broad brush are disgusting. I know that you haven't referred to Barton in this thread specifically, but it has been done enough elsewhere to make this pre-emptive statement necessary.

Also of note Ricky Harris ran 49.21 in the 400 hurdles...1.05 off his pr...but my better then the few races he ran indoors and seems to be getting back into decent shape.

First of all please.....they aren't "MY" drug allegations. He failed a test did he not? I'm not throwing around allegations at Mullings. I dind't just say hey...Mullings is running fast i think he used steroids. The iaaf said that. The verdict might not be handed down yet, but that has nothing to do with it being MY allegations towards him. Unless i'm totally missing something here, these are track and fields allegations towards him.
And my attempts to paint everyone who has trained with him are disgusting? Please. I think i made a reference once, which was only aiming at one sprinter inparticular...and it's a pretty solid one if you ask me....hardly disgusting...but non the less i won't mention it again as it isn't fair i guess.

One could also point to the barton sprinters they get...but i htink they get some of the woman too? And if the sprinters tehy get are anything like Mullings...we know why those barton guys do so well.
Defend, please.

I said "if" they are anything like Mullings. that was a knock on mullings, not on his teamates.

I can tell you the people I know that ran for Barton were not on drugs. Past or present. They're all hard workers and have been decent athletes all their lives (except one who started running 10th grade year in high school. She got good quickly in high school as a result of natural progression, which her fast times indicate that she has talent.
I agree with KevinM, although not in harsh terms, that it isn't fair to accuse them of using drugs because they run fast. Yes, Mullings didn't pass a drug test but that is his individual circumstance. They've had guys and girls on their teams that were phenomenal athletes in high school.
Oh yeah!

turns out, asafa powell let up the last 5 meters, do you think if he hadnt have done this he would have broken the world record?

Not a chance on Earth.
Anyone who believes otherwise has a very poor understanding of racing mechanics and time.

He was cleared about a week or two ago. Something was fishy about the testing in the 1st place. They didn't test both of his samples I believe, so all that did was sorta give him a bad name.

It was actually the last 15m from reports after the race. And also from what he and people who were at the meet said. He mentioned that his coach told him not to put on any world record performances, so he didn't run the whole race. He also had a bad start, so it's not out of the question that he could have gone 9.7x He says 9.72 - 9.75, I didn't see the race, but i'm guessing it wouldn't have been that fast.

Well those are the times when one gets close enough to break a record and doesn't...then they NEVER get closer in life again....(i.e. Mike Marsh '92 Oly Games semifinal where he ran 19.73 and damn near walked across the line...)

do y'all realize what a great situation we have in the 100? Asafa Powell and Justin Gatlin, if healthy, will be one of the greatest track rivalries of all time. And you know strong rivalries bring out the best on both sides. These guys are what, 21 and 22? It's gonna be fun watching them for many years.

And Crawford yes? It's not like Gatlin blew Crawford away....the man who said he would run 9.6 and 18.9 or something like that.

Crawfords a little older. I have a feeling that Gatlin and Powel is where it's at for the next few years.

All sprinters have "bad starts". The sad thing is had he run 9.72 Mrr82 would've been a human urine tester and would've ate him up. lol (j/k Mrr)
