With all the hype around Rupp's amazing run in Oregon, it seems that many people managed to miss this one....
Lindsey Scherf ran 32:51.20 to just slip under Mary Shea's 25+ year old record of 32:52.5. Congratulations to her, its great to see her running well again after a few up and down years during HS.

That's unbelievably amazing. It's finally on Letsrun's homepage...let's see how long it takes to put that information on Dyestat.

All congratulations from GMRC 2003 group 3!

Well now it's up on the Dyestat page, although it may as well not be. It describes her as a home schooled runner in HS who's now running for Columbia.....wtf.

It is excusable, she wasn't on a high school running team and it says she ran at columbia, not for them.

it said "Columbia freshman Lindsay Scherf" before....they changed it.

In fairness to the Dyes, her situation is a little confusing. When I met her she was a Scarsdale runner and we were in the same running group at GMRC (I was surprised that I had no idea who she was--I was in group 3 of 19 or so and the Bronxville Mullens and the fastest girls were in 4 and 5). Then later she ran independently but I want to say ran for Scarsdale again? I got confused.

But she is a Harvard student now who ran AT Columbia. Her present affiliation should be easy to get right--especially after the past x-c and indoor seasons.

This nonsense aside, congratulations to Lindsey! Congratulations to the mens 10K too...how they let that become a lean I don't know...but I guess that makes it interesting.
