Noticed in the Ocean County results that Southern has a pretty good girls team.
They had 3 scorers in the 1600 - going 5:24, 5:31, 5:32. They also had a 4 x 4 that went 4:10 (presumably with Tauro running one leg.)
They should be able to put together a decent DMR, no? They've got the best anchor out there, some other solid legs. quick math of 4:00, 65, 2:30, 4:45 gives 12:20.
obviously, the won't be running for a title at Penn with that time, but would that make it in? (again, I'm assuming Tauro would run the open mile anyway). What about a 4 x 8? could any of those girls drop down in distance?

Pretty good math, as they had the following result in the State Relays Meet:
3 SOUTHERN REGIONAL 12:28.86
1) Rachel Ruggiano SR 2) Jessica Bergin JR
3) Jillian Smith FR 4) Danielle Tauro JR

maybe i should pay attention more to actual results.
maybe i should start a thread called: "do you think forys can break 4:10?"
in any case, now that you bring that up, i remember hearing that tauro split right around 5:00 for that race, correct? if so, they've got 10-15 secs right there, and presumably the other girls would be a bit quicker with spikes on a good track too. that puts them about 8-10 secs behind roxbury/colts neck.

I'm not sure what Danielle split at Princeton in that race, but after watching her at the Garden last week and knowing what she can do outside, it is certain that the team time can go much lower based just on her 1600.

That's about what Ruggiano (4:00) and Bergin (65) ran at State relays, but the frosh Smith is definitely one to keep an eye on after a 2:21 in Red Bank last week at Shore's.
She's also the 5:24 and could conceivably be a better fit at the 1,200 in the spring time.

I think that the southern girls could go even faster. . .i think by spring you will see jill smith running at least 2:15 for the 8. . .tauro about 4:45. . .bergin could go about 60 flat. . . and glowacki or ruggiano can def go faster too. maybe even 3:45 for the 1200. That puts them at 11:45. . .pretty competitive.
