Bershawn won in 46.00, but what's with the stories that the first 200 was in 20.08?? That's an American record! And it's not entirely clear who came through at that time.
From usatf.org: After going out in 20.08 seconds for the first 200m, the world outdoor 400m hurdle champion, Bershawn Jackson won the Visa men's 400 meters in a world-leading 46.00 seconds.
From iaaf.org: After a phenomenally fast opening half, Bershawn Jackson sped to a narrow 46.00 win in the 400, the year's second fastest.
"They came through [200m] in 20.08," said Jackson, the reigning 400m Hurdles World champion. "That's just stupid fast. But I stuck to my gameplan and executed. It wasn't that I was going slow, it's that the race was so fast."

That can't be right....maybe 21.08 it was supposed to say?

That still seems too fast. That means he would've run the 2nd half in 25 seconds. No way, unless he faded horribly.
21.8 would be more reasonable. When Michael Johnson set the outdoor WR, he went through in 20.8

He said the field went out "stupid fast" doesn't mean he did

Got it. Still a typo though. Only Frank Fredericks has ever run that fast for 200 indoors.
When Clement ran his World Record he came through 200 in 21.04 so there is no way they came through that fast.

World leading? Hadn't Carter just run the 45.8x a few hours before??

So true.... therefore I'm going to make the assumpion of a simple typing error and say they came through in 20.80, which for the field I don't think is unreasonable. Also as Jared had metioned earlier another typing error could have been 21.08, again very reasonable considering the field.

yeah, x-man ran 45.89 by himself in the 400. other than that, the announcer was great as always up there.
