Toshinari Takaoka is the defending champion. Anything can happen.

The fastest times doesn't always win(Sammy Korir). His fitness level and others fitness level changes from time to time, plus race conditions favor certain athletes over others, and people execute different tactics which favor certain people, and sometimes people just flat out run hard to win at the end. You can not usually tell who's gonna win a race, just give probablities for a likely winner in a usual situation.

Sammy Korir lost the race, why guarantee him to win?

Everybody think about this.
