Who is favored to win the DMR this year.
Favorites Must Include
MONSIGNOR FARRELL[Seed 10:22.72]
ARLINGTON [Seed 10:30.14]
SYOSSET [Seed 10:27.14]
Also ?
Phillipsburg - 'A' Is Seeded High [10:12.96]
(However, dont know if theres any truth to this time)

I do also see a lot of teams entered that I think are capable of giving it a good run, however I have not seen or remembered any of there DMR times or runner abilities. Whats Good???? Who Takes It???

**Special Note
Kevin Tschirhart is seeded at 1:54.14 For the 800 Meter Run. Is this his return race from his injury? Or is he not running at all?

I talked to Kevin at the St A's meet, he told me that he has been training and there was a good chance that he would compete at the Loucks meet. Wasn't a slam dunk but looked pretty good. I wish him the best.

ive spoken to you a few times from what i've been told, once when i was a sophmore, and no, i dont know who you are haha.

for those who care, i do not think i will be in the 800. I think 1600 or 3200. My speed is naturally pretty good, the guys who i'll be running against have 3 weeks of strength that i do not have.

Over the last 4 years I've spoke with you many times Kev, however I have never identified myself to you as "Gofast". Next time we talk, I will. Godspeed.

ok, i'll continue the "talking to KT" thread..........KT, do you have an idea which event you will be running at the state meet the first weekend in june?
i have to say that 3200 last year with you and Hakon Devries was extremely fun to watch

good_burger
05-11-2005, 12:29 AM
Yeah that was a cool race, there was a sweet KT cheering section over on the back straight away which was cool to run by. Hakon's was the other 390 meters, but hey, he's a popular guy.

As for this year, i have no idea what ill be running . Today i paced teammates at a dual meet ( ran 429 and 1025, niether felt hard) so hope isnt lost.

I am quite certain that 5-10 strangers walk up to Kevin and ask him questions at almost every meet he goes to. Can't expect the guy to recall any of these brief Q&A sessions. ;)

Yes Boys Dmr Shot Off at 5:40PM (Thursday 12th, May) women shortly after
I am unaware of the times however i know the boys was in the 10:25 range. With first 1200m leg running slow splits (leader was around 66 2:09 3:09)

Wow, 10:25 is really slow for that race, given the quality of the field. There were maybe 10 teams with seed times faster than that.

Not to take anything away from any of the other teams but everyone looked rather sluggish as did I

good_burger

last year was sluggish too. I think its cause there's absolutley no one there. It's only the dmr races. I remember it feeling really lame. Maybe they should just move it into the 'heart' of the meet.

yea i felt like i was running a time trial at one of practices, i mean there was probably like 3 people in the stands and i just had my coach screaming at me on the back turn....other than that i pretty much didn't feel like i had any pressure....damn that first lap on the 1200 was slow

Gubbins and German are both entered in the 1600 at Loucks and the Mile at Hartford. Anyone know which one they are going to run in?

Last year Westfield won easy..i wouldn;t say 10:14 is that sluggish..everyone else may have been , but Northport ran close to their seasonal best..at 10:20?

conabud
05-13-2005, 11:42 AM
that's not the first time gubbins has been entered in 2 different meets in two different states on the same day.......i also saw him entered in like all the MILE/2MILE races for NIC and NSIC.....i guess his coach likes to play it safe. (?)

Alot of people took AP tests on that day last year, most people were just shot from the 3-4 hour test.

What would White's time be when converted to a mile, 4:20, 4:21?

C. White's 4:17 is a new freshman state recordd

05-14-2005, 06:00 PM
wow...that's a 5-second PR at an already high level....i knew he was good but i didn't expect a 4:17 this year - especially before states
he's gonna be a force to reckon with at the state meet this year

4:11.x at Hartford Public Mile.

4:11.5

WOW

it's a shame that with all the hype it only ended up being barnicle v white
it doesn't suprise me though....especially after the indoor season white had

it was probably pretty nice seeing his teamate win the 2mile/3200 also

@ Hartford with a 9:37:x win. Over a 35 second PR. Not surprising since Colin has been running 4:30 miles all of outdoors. He'll provide a rebuilding LVPool w/ a solid 1/2 combo going into next year. LVPool also had 4-5 runners hovering at that 10 Minute 2 mile mark and sub 4:55 Mile

4:11.x at Hartford Public Mile.

this kid is on fire... he made nice progress all winter and shows his real ability when he took a trip to the armory to finish a close second at nationals in 4:14.xx and now this - that's a nice PR... could crack 4:10 this season maybe...

what kind of 800 speed does he have??? is a strength miler who can move up and run in the 9:0x for 2miles???

also, what happend tshirt, injured?

Appears to be on solid ground, w/ a wide range of events this year

800 - 1:56:9
1000 - 2:30.4 NYS Indoor Champ
3200 - 9:23:6 Eddy Meet (1st time running since Freshman Season)
400 - 51
