This forum is dead, so I thought I'd post a fact on here.

I am a boy, but there is a girl thrower on our team who squatted 275 about 3 weeks ago. This girl is about 5'7 and I would guess weighs 140-150. she throws the shot and disc. PR's somewhere around 33' and 110' i believe. Anyone else's mind boggled by the strength though??

full ATG squat or like a 1/2 squat? If it was ATG thats freaking insane, but the 1/2 squat would still be pretty crazy

I don't know what ATG stands for, but she went to 90 degrees without a doubt according to my coach (who won't give anyone more credit than they deserve, so I have no doubt that she went to 90).

As a girl thrower, it is more impressive that surprising to me. I am slightly shorter but weigh about the same and my max is probably within 100 or less pounds (Haven't tested it in a while due to back problems)

I'm a girl sophmore shotputter new to lifting this year and hit 275 on a machine but am only around 225 free. It is definitely a lot harder to get that free and deserves a lot of credit! :) Just curious, how old is she?

Some of the top female shotputters in the PA area are squatting circa 405lbs (a couple above and a couple very near) to parallel (although they're over 200lbs).

Just wondering, would you happen to be talking about Karen Shump, Sam Fetter, or Allyn Laughlin? If not, who are you talking about because those numbers are crazy :)
