Kudos to ESPN for televising. It's not primetime or live, but to devote 1 hr to XC is huge.

Man am I ever glad that tomorrow is a holiday. I will be watching this. Heck, I might just pull the old VCR out of retirement & tape it also.

I'm watching it right now and Bob Kennedy looks like he has gained a few pounds.

The coverage tonight has been outstanding....best I've ever seen of a XC race. Makes no sense at all to be trailside, and watch them run by a few times.

Ryan looked UNBELIEVABLY good. It was actually shocking. 3rd in the 4k, then back today to easily win the 12k. YIKES! He looked to be cruising the last 700m, and he still buried Ritz (4th) by 50sec! Truly impressive.

Goucher looked awesome on that kick against Lincoln. The guy is on a roll.

I concur. Dathan looked in shock/disappointed/in pain after the race.

I thought the coverage was awesome. I was also on TV during the 12k, I was standing on the turn near the starting line:D

you'd gain a few pounds if: 1)you stopped training your arse off and 2) you were standing outside in 5 degree weather too. it's called clothes.

the coverage was solid and it was great to have a runner of kennedy's magnitude commentate on the race. i like how basic they make things because that tells me that ESPN is focusing on introducing the sport to people instead of just assuming that the only people watching are runners and not bothering to explain anything. the section on the railroad ties and rhythm was great.

carrie tollefson is amazing, i've been in love with that woman since i was in high school and she was running for 'nova.

too bad you didn't grow up in MN :)

i've had a crush on her since MIDDLE school. lol...

it was a good showing by the upper midwest yesterday. good to see luke watson making the team again...

overall i thought the coverage was great...would've liked to have seen where jorge and ryan made their break from max/ritz, but all in all i was satisfied, but it always could be better. i dragged my gj down to our friends bar (we don't have cable), and in order for her to be at all interested i tried my best to tell her stuff about the leaders of each race...and everytime i told a story, the commentators were about 10 sec behind me:D

ryan hall looked awesome in both races, it seemed he wasn't really pressing that final stretch in the 4k at all...

Anyone know if espn plans on showing the race again and when that would be?

Well....they have to make room for crap like NBA etc. that bring in the big bucks...that's why Track & XC are always on at the wierd hours!

Ya gotta get a DVR my friend.
