Pretty good early season time out of Columbus. Won by 12 seconds over Boaz (didn't even know that guy steepled), and only 2 seconds off his PR.

Yea i'm not sure Boaz had ever done it before....the guy's probably trying to find an event that will make him more money and give him a better chance to run for kenya in. He's ran 737? for 3k indoors....if he cuold learn to steeple well he could be a low 8 guy right now.
He's also mentioned he's interested in becoming American. He's faster then all of our steeplers, so if he did, and if he could learn to steeple better he could be our best right away....he might have that in mind as well.
He's a below average Kenyan at 5k,10k...so he's testing out the steeple waters.....no pun intended lol.

He's faster than a healthy Lincoln or Gary?

he means at 3k without steeples. faster in general, not at steeple yet.
he is pointing out the potential he could have considering he has already gone 737 indoors in the 3k and could if he learned good steeple form be our fastest at steeples. not that he already is, cause he obviously isnt when he got beat by 12 seconds by fam who is arguably 2nd or 3rd best steepler.
at least thats what i think he meant

i think lincoln may have run 7:40 last year. it was a time fast enough to mcd to say that he had the potential to break henry marsh's 8:09 AR.

Oh yeah i ment his fastest 3k steeple sorry if i wasn't clear? But i'm guessing it isn't faster then 8:09 then.

That's my point. Boaz barely beat Lincoln in that 3k. 7:37 to 7:39.
I talked to Boaz at Tyson last year and asked him if he wanted to become an American citizen. He said no, that he wanted to run for Kenya. However this was 2004 and he was talking to a highschooler about it so he probably didn't want to give too much information away. I'm sure now he could become a citizen soon and make some good money here.

Lincoln ran 8:15.02......Marsh ran 8:09.17, and Mark Croghan ran 8:09.76.
I think Famiglietti's PR is 8:17.91.
Not sure, but i think there has been 11 americans under 8:20 over the years.

Actually boaz blew away Lincoln if you watched that race...and lincoln ran 740 not 739. Boaz ran away from Cragg who ran 738 for a collegiate record in that race. Putting 3 seconds on a guy at the end of a race is owning them...not barely beating them....Lincoln maxed himself out...Boaz might have gone 735 if he had someone else there to push him even harder.
Regardless he ran 3 seconds faster then lincoln and lincoln ran 815 in the steeple...you get this guy to learn how to do it right and he can mix it up in some decent races.
