congrats to brookline on their victory. you stepped up when it counted, and look what you got. wish i could say the same.

i said at the beginning of the season i wanted to run 2:28. i still believe i could have run 2:28 - yet i didnt. i didnt advertise it earlier (and im not sure i want to now, cause i dont believe in any type of excuses - however im sure a number of people want to know why the 1k didnt end with any sub 230 performances), but ive been injured for the past 2 weeks. the stress of a long run took its toll on the joint between my first metatarsal of my right foot and its connecting joint. for a week, a stress fracture was feared - the week before class. thanks to my teammate bryan longo (who ran on my shoulder the entire race, only to die on the kick), i was able to finish with a first place medal. i think i ran 20 miles over this past week - significantly lower than the training i had been putting myself through until early february. the effects clearly showed today, as i could not compete for first place. sounds exactly like an excuse to me, and for that im sorry, just as i am for not backing up my claims with documented performances.

i would like to congratulate moriarty for his win today - big kick side by side with brousseau if i remember correctly. way to pull out your best performace at the biggest meet.

the race itself i thought was alot of fun - back and forth battling. its races like these that i race for. while the final outcome was less than i hoped for, the race was more than i could have hoped for in terms of an actual race. im gonna go so far as to say it was my favorite race of the season. for this reason, im quite content with the meet this afternoon.

however, im maybe a bit disappointed with the official-ing at the meet today. but before i go making more claims that i cant back up, does anyone have a video of the seeded boys 4x2?

was anyone near the zone during the first handoff? can anyone account for the veracity of the disqualification? i personally did not think our runners handed off outside of the zone, and no flag was waved afterwards - yet we were disqualified anyways.

again, congratulations to those runners who ran in the meet today, especially those who ran and placed higher than their seeds.

lexington plans on running a DMR, 4x8, and 4x2 at NSIC. will anyone be competing with/against us? i look forward to one final HS indoor meet (we will not be running at NEs)

Willi, you are one of the classiest people I've ever spoken to. I appreciate your making this thread. Wherever you end up next year (have you decided yet? Brown?) is going to get one hell of a runner and a person.

For the 4x2 I was on the far side of the home stretch so I couldn't see too well but here's what I thought. Your 2nd guy started a bit early causing the lead guy to panic and do a dive/trip? kind of thing to complete the handoff. Maybe the officials thought the lead guy went out of his zone with the dive? Maybe the handoff was actually out of the zone.

I expect you to come back strong in Spring, as with everybody who had seasons that didn't meet their expectations.

I do.

Okay I'm sorry, I didn't realize this poster had a fan club. I just found that section of that post to be the most self-absorbed I have ever seen. Again, I'm sorry if I'm wrong about that assumption.

When the STAT talks I like to hear it no matter what it is. He didnt blame his loss on injuries he just said it as it was. Not a problem in my book

G/L at Nationals Willi and for 4x2 as well, I might see you there if I get lucky. It's fun talking to you guys and racing against you as well(though I'm pretty far back). MA mile outdoors will be nasty.

This is something a slow person would say.

Can't wait.

What's with the 4x8 being right before the Mile at NE's? (I think the 4x2 is in between) That's kinda BS if you ask me, since Mile to 4x8 is common.

EDIT: They didn't let Moreau long jump in the finals because a teammate checked him out to go to the 600 rather than he himself. Not saying he would have jumped 22feet (even though he has before) but he could have gotten 1.25 inches for 3rd rather than 5th.

Agreed and still a beastly performance with an injury. Congrats to everyone today.
