Did you notice last years HS leader in men's shot and discus had winning marks of 62' 10.75" and 193'03" at his first college outdoor meet.

The freshman at Arizona State University threw 61' 9" to win shot and 188'-5" for 3rd in discus yesterday. The two ahead of him in discus were Niklas Arrhenius and Kibwe Johnson.

He looks to be ranked 2nd in shot in the nation (NCAA Division I 2006 Outdoor PERFORMANCE LIST) after his first college outdoor meet!

Ryan Whiting is an unbelievable competitor so this is no surprise to me.

I just wish he stayed closer to home here in PA so I could continue to watch him.

I wish him the very best and expect it to come from him, his talent and work ethic is better than any T&F athlete I've ever followed with the exception of Lauryn Williams.

I could not figure out why Ryan is not on the national lists, then I heard he has redshirted this season. With the marks he has been getting it's hard to understand why!
