We have two undeclassmen who tran 60.5 and 60.7 in a duel meet yesterday. Are these competitive times? Where would this put them in section v? I am too lazy to check. Also are this good times? I am a distance runner so I have no idea.

they are good, but there are plenty of people in the section who run faster. I know 2 kids from one school who run under 60

by underclassmen do you mean freshman or sophmore, for a freshman thats great, for a sophmore its alright...
you never know where someone is going to be senior year by their freshman year times though... some people quit, some people dont work hard, and other people really bust out and run incredible... 60.5 can turn into a state champ or it could turn into something really mediocore... it all depends on how much the kids willing to push himself and where he immagines himself in a few years

for frosh/soph im going to say thats very good. Sure theres a bunch of guys under 60, but with those times id be surprised if theres more than 3 underclassmen running under 60 in your section. I dont run for section V so i really have no idea, but thats my guesstimate. ANd like the other guy said, he has state champ potential and potential for moving completely backwards. You never know what can happen. Best of luck to those kids tho, they sure have a bunch of talent.

you guys arent giving these kids enough credit.. as one of the last posters said, for an underclassman, under 60 is a very promising sign of great things to come.. and obviously both these athletes are on the brink of breaking 60.. good luck to both of them!

it's nice to see the 400 IH distance still being run somewhere. I moved from Rome to Maine. They only contest the 300IH. I hear so much how grueling it is. I think to myself, f*** you, try going the extra 100. They just dont get it.
